If there is no God...

How long would it take us human beings to reach the point in technology and knowledge that we would have the abilities we now attribute to God?
Think about it. Over the last 100 years we have grown in knowledge and technology at a staggering rate. I mean, many of our grandparents (only 2 generations) had outhouses and got around on horse and buggy.
Technologically and knowledge-wise, how far will we be in another 100 years... or 1000, or 10,000?
We will either be able to create universes... or will have destroyed ourselves trying.
If there is no God, what (besides ourselves) would there be to stop us?

Science and God are two dirrerent things. While science is based on set of theories and experiments God is based on religions. While science tries to investigate about the world, a religion has already described concept on the world. Science is always subject to change and evolve. A religion is not subject to change or eveolve.
Therefore, it is not a wise act to find a relationship between these two or to expect for a day science will prove a religion or religion will prove science. No matter what science cannot improve the man kind for the betterment of the world and others. It is only a religion can guide people to improve their mind and good qualities.
We do not know what will happen in future. All what we have to do is to engage in good deeds today according to our religion. The future will be better if we act that way.

The question doesn't have anything to do with proving or disproving the existance of God. But thanks for playing.

It almost seems like we could go on and on and the sky would be the limit, except for the fact that we mess everything up so much! and not only does just about all things in life fall apart eventually, but especially the things which man does falls apart. I guess I'm of the opinion that apocalypse began in Eden! Accelerated in Cain's day.. and has been on a roll ever since.. I sincerely can't see humanity keeping together for another 100 years! But even if we did, "if there is no God" there would be nothing! And that is not a religious statement but one of physics.. Kind of like if there were no gravity.. Great topic!

..eXactly!] Otherwise why would God endow us with thinking ability, if he doesn't want us to think..

Yeah, it is a question that requires us to think outside of our religious beliefs. I don't think that is a bad thing though. As long as it doesn't motivate us to suspend our fait.

Man would never reach the level of god as Albert Einstien found out after entire life of research!
There are innumerable universes functioning beyond our own universe and every thing functions like a clockwork.Man does not even havs an idea about his own universe.Telescopes have helped him only to see some very distant objects,His knowledge is incomplete even about the solar system. He can never unravel the secret of universe and creation by looking outside.Only yogis can do this in deep meditation.Find yourself and you have found every thing is the teaching.

We may never reach the ability to create and destroy like the Gods of all mythologies do. The Christian God can create whole ecosystems in seven days with as much effort as it takes to snap your fingers - if we go with the literal interpretation of lore, that is. Such a feat is realistically impossible for humans. The things stars and planets require for their formation would be impossible for us to provide.
Who would stop us if we did come across such technological advancements? No one, unless there are other sentient beings in the universe.

What we do today was "impossible" just a generation or two ago.
True, other sentient beings in the universe could also stop us.
