I've finally done it!!

Well, I have never dyed my hair before. Neither did I ever do any treatment to it too. The only thing I ever did to my hair is to cut it. And the occassional gel when I have to attend functions. I have been given a crown of dark hair. And I am not griping about it. I accept it cos it is who I am. No need to resort to coloring my hair to make a statement. Cheaper on the pocket too. What is wrong with being a brunette? As long as you can carry yourself with confidence, you will be pretty in any body's eyes. Have some faith in yourself. You have a pretty face. And I am sure you will look just as good with dark hair as you did with blonde.

Hi Munchkin, My friend when from blonde to a redhead last year and she was much more fun blonde, it changed her for some reason. I am sure you will get used to it, get your hair back into tip top condition and then use lemon juice to put highlights in and too lighten instead, more natural and not as harmful as peroxide. This was my friends reason too as she had bleached her hair for so many years. I only dye my hair to cover the grey these days LOL but in the past have had pink, red, blue, you name it I've had it done, the worse was an orange that made me look like Johnnie Rotten or Rik Mayall LOL but that was sorted within two days. Leaving conditioner in overnight also will help get rid of the dryness, one specially formulated for dyed hair as doing this will let it really penetrate, perhaps go to bed with a hair towel on if you can as will make a mess on the pillows. If friends and family think it looks great then it does it is just you that has to get used to it eh! Huggles. Ellie :D

Well your hair looks like it has a lot of different colors in that pic if that's really you. Anyway, going darker always makes girls look more sophisticated. Every time a celebrity gets her hair colored to a darker shade she looks smarter and more of an intellectual. I hope you learn to like your new hair color! Be sure to use a good brand of shampoo and hair care products to help "cure" your dry hair. :)

It's funny that you said that munch because I made the mistake of listening to one of my friends who told me to lighten up because I'm getting older! Well frig her! I started to lighten and lighten and I friggen hated it! So I went back to dark! I don't care! I don't like my hair lighter! It is a bit harsh for older woman to have dark hair, but lighter hair just didn't look right on me! I couldn't get used to it. My natural color is dark brown. Now for some reason my coloring it using dark brown keeps coming out blackish. If I try to lighten it to make it dark brown it comes out redish which just isn't the color for me. So it's a little darker than my natural color, but I like it anyway! I think you would look great with a brown color! I have no doubt that it looks great! You just have to get used to it. No offense to blondes but, unless you are really natural, you don't look natural unless you really have the skin coloring for it. I am not a blonde fan! And all you blondes out there~Save the hate mail! It's just my opinion! And I love red hair, I just don't look good as a redhead. I wish I did!

I have never dyed my hair (as of yet), but I have regretted getting my hair permed a couple times in the past as well as the do-it-myself haircuts when I was a kid. LOL Hopefully you'll get used to your new hair color in time. So is this new color your original hair color, something new, or have you been blonde for so long that you can't remember?

I have had my hair so many different colors and a few I really hated and had to change soon after. My natural color is a medium light brown (now with a LOT of gray) and I have very ruddy skin. So dark hair doesn't suit me at all. It just makes me look old. So I learned quickly to never go darker than my natural color or I was going to immediately hate it. Making a drastic change is such a shock. Our hair is what frames our face and everything from the color to the cut tells the world about yourself and that's how they identify with you. Give it a couple of weeks and if you still hate it you can always make some changes. Add some highlights in a complimenting lighter color for example. For auburn hair some golden brown or coppery highlights might brighten it up and put you more in your comfort zone without changing the base color. Whatever you end up doing it comes down to feeling good and confident about yourself and how you project yourself to the world. Best of luck Munchkin!
