What is the perfect career?

I am having a very hard time deciding what type of career I want to get into. I know I'm still young, only 22, but I need to figure it out soon so I can start working towards it and have a successful career before I am 30. This is what I would like in a career: At LEAST $40,000 per year. Flexible schedule. I would like to have weekends off and be able to take vacations once in a while. I am NOT a morning person, I have a very hard time getting up before 8am. My IDEAL career would be working at home, doing something on the computer. I don't like dealing with angry people. I don't like pushing people to buy things that they don't want or need. I prefer working by myself, rather than on a team. Is there any career out there that would meet most or all of these requirements? I have been researching a lot of different careers and I can not find anything that I think I would like to do for the next 20-40 years of my life. Is there anyone who really, loves their career?

The perfect career for me would be a job where I could work at home make my on time to work and make as much as 100,000 a year. That would be the nicest thing in the world and I would be all set.

The perfect job? I would always say one thing to the people who post here on mylot about job hunting... Since you are a beginner on this area of your life, I would say try to make most of the job that you like. First thing's first, your have to start loving having a job. It's not easy earning money if you are not enjoying what you do. Make sure you have built strong work ethics. For example, when you try to look for a house, you wont consider the price if you have the money. what you want is a place that you will be comfortable to start out a new beginning in life...the kitchen, the bedroom, the john, the bath, the terrace, the garden, the neighborhood. Same thing happens with a job...you won't mind how hard a job if you have the eagerness to work on it. since you are still young, don't look to the pay that a job can give you...love your job and it will love you back. Having a career is a matter of self fulfillment over having money which can disappear once you buy something in the mall or in the fast food chain. :) Stay focused on your work ethics first and after feeling fulfilled and comfortable of having a job, knowing your priorities, learning how to make your budget and make both ends meet in times of crisis, met people that can teach you various things in life, and all things that matter to valuing your career, then try to find something that can give you a lot of money and at the same time make you enjoy your time.. hope my piece of advice helps you heatherleigh! :) To everyone, happy mylotting! :)

LOL You my dear are screwed, Unless you want to start your own business and set your own hours. I always wanted to be a pharmasist...I went to university for a year, found the work to hard and the play to easy...dropped out and worked odd jobs for a bit, i had 1 child then decided to go back to school...pharmacy technician...I loved it finally found a job I liked. We got married and I had another child...Now I am a stay at home mom who watches other children to make a little extra cash while my hubby makes the big bucks. I honestly don't think there is a perfect job out there...only if you think it is a perfect job. If I were you I would go to university and take a bunch of different courses in different fields until you find want you want. You may be searching a long time but at least you will be enjoying life while you are doing it and hopefully making frined in the mean time. Did you ever think about writing books? That is kind of your own business... Goodluck

My friend, The best advice I can give you is this: Do what you love, and the money will follow. What do you like to do? fix things? create new designs? computer games? teaching and tutoring? The process of finding your career starts with finding who you are first. Find out what makes you passionate, what makes you get up in the morning, what do you have or do that you just do it naturally? that flows? For once you discover yourself, you will discover where to go from there. Be true to who you are. just a thought.
