hi there...I love counter strike very much...I don't think that ppl don't like cs anymore. There are regular players who play cs almost daily and also there are various competitions being organised all over the world where cs is one of the favoured games....in most colleges all over India there is atleast one cs competition per year....the only way to get ppl to be more involved is by bringing new versions of the game and that too good ones(and not like cs source which i feel is quite slow)...

dont know bout slow but cs source is a very lousy game that makes us feel as if we are playing just another one of those mindless, cartoonish, shoot-em-ups.
It dosent have the sense of realism that Counter strike cz or 1.6 provide.

Although Counter-strike is still a preferred FPS game when I play with my friends in LAN, Counter-strike is really old stuff nowadays. The graphics is really basic as compared to mind-blowing Half-life 2, Call of Duty 4 or Crysis. There has been minimum development in Counter-Strike, and I guess its natural to see CS getting less popular among people.
A major update is a must for CS for it to survive. Maybe it should put in more strategy instead of mindless shooting action. Think "Rainbow Six". I think more people will join CS if taticsFPS skills, bringing in more drama and action.

well i would love to agree with my friend above.
Counter-Strike is still the most happening game in India - infact one of the few except DOTA and NFS to have a real fan following.
sorry but here in India, there are tournaments for only a few selected games like CS, NFS, Football series, and the age of empires series.
Needless to state counter strike attracts the bulk of gamers in these events.
Therefore stating that counter strike has become obsolete or that it has been replaced by some other game in places where the average PC can hardly run call of duty 3, is not entirely correct.

Maybe people are into High-End graphics like COD4 or whatever, but for me counterstrike still has a big role in the gaming world because most or I think almost all game leagues (WCG,CEVO,ESL,WGT) have Counterstrike game. either 1.6 or Source version.

i think that counter strike is one of the greatest games ever. it is one of my favorite online games. i love it. i am so addicted to it. i dont know why not many people have been making or responding to discussions on mylot about counter strike. but i know that counter strike will never become an old fashioned game. or at least to me it wont.
