Here is a photo of one of my favorite candies since childhood. They are NECCO wafers. They are made by New England Confectionary Co out of Massachusets. They are multi colored wafers that are basically all sugar. I have a hard time finding them at local grocery stores. But the Dollar Tree store seems to have them all the time. ANother old time candy I still love is Good N Plenty. Remember Choo CHoo Charlie? I miss those comericials. What is your favorite "old time" candy? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I forgot about those. I also remember Good N Plenty and loved it. I really like peanut butter log I think is the name of it, small candy with stripes on it and the chicken on a stick. If I am wrong with the names I am so sorry. I should have done some research before I responded. As a child I loved so many different candies and some still around and others not. OH yes, Bit O Honey....love them.

For May day I actually made May baskets for my sisters and brother and included some of the old time candy that was available...Necco's were part of the basket! I prefer Bings....I just love them. Also those carmel/ marshmallowy things that look like a pinwheel! I can't remember their names.

Man now I am craving those cookies with chocolate covered marshmallows. The cookie was a small wafer type and the marshmallow was pinwheel shapede. Is that what you're talking about? These didn't have caramel though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yes, that's it. And, yeah, they had the coins on the cardboard. I think, the last time I found them, they still had some kind of promotional something or another on them.

Peanut butter kisses - mmmmm the candies of yester years
Love the necco wafers my favorite one in the packs was the black ones and the tannish ones. I like the halloween candy that is called Peanut Butter kisses. I would get everyones when I ws a kid after trick or treated because everyone hated them. I love peanut butter. Around Christmas I like chocolate covered cherries and that is the only time I buy them because i don; want to get burned out on them. But talking about candy takes me back to childhood. Grandma had these cherry and lemon drops they were so good. a 5 gallon tin mixed. I can't remember the name nor have I seen them since childhood. Remember the Christmas candies that were hard that looked like ribbons. like in the one candy picture you have there. oh to be a kid again. (and yes people i know i didn't cap and stuff where need be. so beat me ..... lol is late)

Both of those candies are great. Here in CA we have no problems finding either one. I do love the black licorice with the sugar coating over them. I use to try and let the coating melt in my mouth before biting the licorice part. I was not very good at that. Did you know you can buy a whole role of Necco's that just come in chocolate? I have not bought that because I love the mixed flavors. I do not much care for the purple ones. The pick ones taste like pepto bismol to me.

Do you suck the Neccos or do you crunch them. I try to let them dissolve in my mouth but I cannot seem to do that and end up chewing them up.

Do you remember the 7-Up candy bar? A chocolate covered nut surrounded on each side by various chocolate covered candy--a caramel, a jelly, a cream and something else. I loved that one. And Skybar, that was great, too! I like Necco wafers, they're all over the place here. I like the green and yellow ones the best!

When i was a kid my favorite penny candy was Mary Janes and peanut butter logs which is strange because although both of them have peanut butter in them i don't like peanut butter! As for candy bars i loved Zeros, Paydays and Snickers.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I remember Choo Choo Charlie and Good N Plenty! I used to love them! One of my favorite candys are Mary Janes! My teeth can't take them anymore, but I still love them! I love Almond Joys too. Oh, and M & M 's! They are still as delicious as always! They just are a bit more colorful then they used to be! Oh, yeah and red licorice was another favorite. I sure did love my candy! Maybe that's why I have such terrible teeth trouble now. I could never stay away from sweets! I still can't! Give me candy, cakes and cookies and forget about the food and I'm good to go!

OMG! I love those things. I like to put them in my mouth, let them get all soft then kind of munch on them until they dissolve. I don't see them too often around here. There are a couple of candies I think of as "old time" candies. One is the rock candy, and the other is ribbon candy. My grandmother almost always had those in a bowl at Christmas time.(Well, anytime we were there for Christmas, anyway) Now I have to go to the Dollar store, or some place like it, and see if I can find the NECCO wafers!

never did like those NECOO wafers myself. i do love the old fashioned xmas candies though! the ribbons and jelly filled ones. every xmas i go ahead and buy a small tin of them from the store and end up being disappointed because they dont seem to taste like they used to..that and they are always ALWAYS stuck together in one big lump. but i keep getting them lol! i really love Charleston Chews. dont know if they are considered "old timers" candy..since they still sell them at the corner store here at least. i love Juji (sp?) Fruits, but can no longer eat them! id be having to take a butter knife to denture work lol!!

I love Necco wafers. I am really not very sure as to why. They are very good though. The other two candies don't ring a bell with me. It is fun to remember favorite candies.

Well, well, well, it is not about the Candy that made me response to your posting but the word "CANDY". Frankly, that is my real name and I am glad you mentioned the word Candy. Anyway, I love to eat any types of candy available in the market. It is sweet as me.
