Dear indian friends,
good evening, from yesterday 2/10/08, indian government had banned cigrate smoking in public places.! what do you think, is is possible to control?
they have announced a fine of 200/- for person who smokes in public and 500/- for shop wala who is allowed to smoke in his shops..!! it includes discothes, pubs & bars..!! and the highlight is any govt officer/ principal/ HM any one can fined the person who is smoking in public..!!for my opinion it is rediculas an its not possible at all..!Now tell me what do u say..?Ramesh S

Smoking should have been banned in public places much earlier...But the collection of fine and things should me more organised to make people follow the laws sincerely...Every one should be aware of their rights to prevent a person smoking in public..I guess then there would hardly be any fine collected at all...If somebody wants to smoke they should do it privately..they have no right to harm us...

Hi I think though its difficult to control people smoking in public places it can be done when each and every citizens co-operate with the law and order. Its good that others wont become passive smokers because of the smokers. But when we come to the point of fine I dont how successful it becomes. According to me the fine collected from smokers must be used for some good purpose to help the poor people. I dont know how far it works. Any Ways Welcome to mylot and happy myloting.
