Do you walk for your health and fitness?

What time of day do you walk? Tell me why you choose that time. I like early mornings, because either my husband is asleep, or he is getting ready for work, and he does not have time to spend with me then. It also gets my energy up for the day.

I go to bed every night with the strong determination of rising up early morning and take two rounds of walking, unfortunately I have not been able to translate that determination into action yet.I might have waken in the early morning but will again curl deeper under the covers due to the slight cold sleepy atmosphere, needless to say about walking down the cold foggy road. But I compensate it with some boxing and gymnastics.I use to run whenever I get a chance.I use to swim at the weekend in the nearby stream.Journey on foot is comparitively low.

I walk when it's warm, after I get a job, I don't know when I will walk. But it's been very cold and damp in the AM, so I've been walking in the afternoon. During the summer,it was too hot in the afternoon, so I walked in the AM. This winter, I'm not sure when I'll walk. Maybe I'll just dance or run up and down stairs.

I find around here certain times of day are better for certain seasons. It was very chilly on Thursday morning, so Friday I took a light pair of gloves for my hands.

I walk for my dog's health. We just happen to both benefit from all those miles that we put in each day. Kai's first walk is around 7:30 in the morning. We do have to dodge all the school run traffic and people going to work on what used to be a nice quiet country road. During the course of the day, we usually walk anywhere from 4 - 6 miles. If I happen to lose some weight along the way, then that is great. I used to walk 3 miles in the mornings but I have cut back as my foot is still not up to par as it should be by now. I will get there though.

You are doing well if you are walking, even with a hurt foot. A dog is wonderful for helping you stick to a walking program.

Walking is a good way to stay fit and healthy. I don't do as much as I should, though.

I do not think any of us do as much as we should, but anything is better than nothing. Keep up with what you can. It sounds to me as if you do fitness cleaning.

I keep saying that I need to start walking a lot more, and more often, I really wish that I had a walking buddy . Do you have someone to walk with or do you walk alone? I have heard that it is best to walk early in the mornings. It is supposed to help kick up metabolism for the day, it is done early so it will not be forgotten to do and you can't say later in the day that you do not have time, it is already done!

Today hubby and I walked around a local park, on the grass, a slow meander type of walk. I know all the reasons for the early walks, and do find most of them to be valid. Sometimes I walk with a friend after choir, and that is a short walk. I do not always walk as much as I should. I walked with one of my clients, again, not a really long walk, on Saturday evening. So that makes four days in a row for me so far.

I used to walk mornings because it would be the start of a brand new day and the air is fresh and clean. I don't walk now because I work nights and I am tired and sleepy in the morning, when I am out of work by the end of the year I will start walking again when the weather permits.

It sounds very much like me. I go in spurts. I am sorry you will be out of work, do you have nothing else on the horizon?

I don't make a habit of walking, but because I take the busses everywhere, I do have to walk to and from the various bus stops. I also walk through the mall when I need to go and get something, so even though I don't walk for the sake of walking, I do spend a lot of time on foot.

I walk Buster almost daily. There is no set timew I prefer. We go whenever Buster and I both feel like it. Buster likes to walk anytime at all. The kids in the neighborhood love Buster. I tend to walk him wqhwen schools out so they can see him etc. A few of their parents even rush out to feed him a treat. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Do they feed you treats as well? I am sure Buster appreciates your faithfulness as you appreciate him.

The mornings are too damp and chilly especially in October, so I like to go for walks in the evenings. Also, everybody I meet in the mornings is usually rushing off somewhere so we only barely have time to say hello to each other. A lot of people here in the village go for walks in the evenings and we all stop to have a short friendly chat. That way we can keep up to date with what's going on in out little community and get a bit of exercise at the same time.

That sounds so cozy to walk that way, we are a city type more than a village type community. When my kids were young it was more the other way. I remember when we first got ducks and geese and swans at the park. In the evenings you might find families just sitting around or walking around the park, enjoying the new attractions.

I usually go for a walk in the morning around 9:00AM,but its been a little chilly lately so I try walking in the evening time.I cannot walk in the afternoon cause I go to work. I do not like to walk in the winter it gets to darn cold out and I dont like walking in all the snow and ice. Sometimes I even ride my bike.

I live in the same block as my church, and I may try walking there in the gym this winter. I work limited hours this year, so I should be able to get more walking in.

I take a walk early in the morning with my dog. I take another equally big walk late in the evening around fivish or sixish, again with my dog. The walks are more for the dog than for me. Luckily, they have helped me shed a lot of weight. That's one of the reasons, I love that dog although she is a handful. Cheers and happy mylotting

We walk for health and fitness, our children actually like to go for a hike as we call it. If we hike around our town, the long way we always make sure we end up at the lorry cafe for a cup of tea and a biscuit, and we then walk the shortest way home! We always walk to school, down town etc.

You are right, dancing is very good for physical fitness, and it seems to restore the spirit as well. Walking is a good solitary activity for thinking.

hi dear friend, i love to walks and i use to go for walks daily . in the morning i use to go for very long walk and the a jog also in between, and in the evening just a walk. but now after my marriage i dont . i use to go for walk, but it is difficult with the family and all. and now it is next to impossible because now we are having a baby so it is a full time job in itself. baby sitting if tiring also but when the baby is yours , you do it.

That is a terrific thing. I never was very coordinated at sports, and tend to be a bit of a loner. I admire people who play a sport out of love for it and stay in good health.
