Well i actually do post responses to those topics that was made more than a year a go or even 2 years ago..really not sure if the topic starter is still active or not..sometimes i forget to check the date when the topic was posted i just answer.
But i think it is really best to answer recently created topics..i even feel guilty answering old topics and i have stopped digging them.
What about you?do you dig up old topics?or you watch out for the recent ones?
Advisable or not?

I have responded to a lot of discussions that were posted one to two years ago! I do not think that it matters really, and if it is a good discussion then it is nice to get it going again I think. I often go digging to see what I can find as well as doing all the recent ones as well.

that is a nice thing to do because i have been doing the same thing too here to those friends of mine who consistently show to each and every discussion that i start..i count on them to rescue me and do the same favor to them.

Sometimes old discussions resurface when someone responds to the discussion or mylot recycle old topics. On seeing the time when the last person responds say 5 mins ago and thinking it is a fresh post I will also responds without thoroughly checking the post has been there a year ago. But no harm is done when the discussion is interesting and responding to it is all the same as a fresh one.

I prefer to respond to recent topics... but when a topic is really interesting and i missed it when it was first started... then i respond to it... it would be a bonus if the one who started it would still comment... that is why when my old discussions get revived... i make it a point to comment and that the one who revived it...

Yes, I have. I happened to stumble on it, when I was responding to another discussion that was similar. I answered it, and I gave my comment to it just like it was a recent discussion. I don't dig up the topics because it already reveals itself to me.

I also dont go digging up posts and respond but I do respond to topics that intrest me and even some that sont. Sometimes I see things that are not my intrest but spike my intrest when I take a closer look at the topic then a comment comes to mind of the top of my head(so to speak). Any way, I havent been on here for a while due to family hardships.

I think it is good for us to sometimes go through year old discussions and respond to them as well. Many of last year's discussions are really good. I do go through some of the old ones, especially those who have no responses and at least help them out. Of course, provided they are reasonable and not just one sentences type.

I respond to any and all topics if I have any input for them. I am backed up til April with my discussions to respond to anyway. I am sure that some people are a year or so behind also. I save them to a folder and reply to as many as I can daily. I am trying to get caught up.

Responding to topics more than a year ago is never advisable to be responded, but it is your decision if you still want to help others by your response. Now since its been less than 2 years of my stay here in Mylot, I now learned being careful of responding some of the discussion as the old discussion are already forgetful I cannot receive earnings from it so i decide to respond on a new one than of the old one. But there are other discussion older that i see if I think I can still be of help I respond to it.

I prefer to respond to recent discussions but I sometimes see an old discussion and just have to respond to it. I feel delighted that I have discovered a really interesting discussion and even though the discussion was started over one year ago. Yesterday I responded to a recent discussion then noticed a similar discussion and then saw it was started one year ago. I looked at the profile of the My Lot member that began that discussion and saw they haven't logged in for months. However my response might interest other members of My Lot that are currently active on the site. Therefore I don't feel guilty when responding to an old discussion. However I did once make the mistake of responding to the same discussion twice. That was silly of me but the My Lot member that began that discussion over a year ago understood. If there are ten responses I can check if I did respond to that months ago but if the discussion has loads of responses I might not notice that I have already responded to it. So I guess what I did is far worse than digging up old discussions. One of my friends on My Lot likes to respond to a discussion then respond to other discussions that member began no matter how long ago. One year ago is fine I feel so how about responding to a discussion that was started two years ago?

I do not go around digging for them, but if they come along because someone like me chose to respond to it, not caring for the date and all, then I also respond to it. What's in the date. If I think I can add something to it, then I surely respond to it, irrespective of the date and day..

ok that is nice...sometimes they just pop out and next thing we know we are responding to it never really bothering to check on the date it was posted.

That is the problem, you don't know if the poster is still active or not. Of course you want your response to be read and acknowledge. But there is a way of checking by looking on his profile. But that is taking too much of time so in order to be safe I don't answer post as old as that. I actually don't dig coz most of the time the new ones I can't even manage. Once I can't find new topics that suit my interest I normally stop lotting instead of digging!

yep, i answer old topics all the time because i always run out of things that i can answer too. I am always looking for questions that i can writeat least 6 lnes to so i can increase my earnings. But i have also niticed that the tops and intrerest i post to arent very comman now, but when you go to the posts that are months old you can find heaps. But i would reallhy like to know if you get less $ from older posts? is it recomended? or should i just stick within the last week or so.
Happy MyLotting!

i really do not know about that..i believe it is still the same rules...the longer the better..no matter if it is old or new...but with the old topics..they do not have much exposure as compared to the new topics and the top topics...i have to admit that there are many interesting topics hidden here..i dig when i cannot find interesting topics anymore.

It really does nto matter when the diascussion was started. If the topic is good and interesting i would love to respond. Wehn i find new topics dull and boring, I go backward and delve for older topics.

I just look up topics in my fields of interest and just post replies. Usually, I don't notice how old the topic is until after I posted a reply.
Well, I was wondering if mylot would think we're taking advantage just to get points but I don't think so.
