If you had a chance would you take a laser surgery to improve you sight? I would. Even if Im used to glasses, afterall Im wearing them for 28y now. But would still wanna get rid of them. And if I had guts and money to go through with this I would. How about you?

If I had the cash I would do it in a second. Getting the laser surgery saves so much money over the years. If you think about buying contacts, getting a yearly eye exam, and buying new glasses. For me the exam is 89, contact run about $200/year, and if I get a new pair of glasses every year (which I don't because my eyes haven't changed in 10 years) that would be an easy $100.

I agree glasses are expansive and so are contacts. i used to wear OneDay contacts and it was really expensive, dont remember the price but it sure isnt cheap. Over the years you do spend more for glasses then you would for the surgery.

I think the kind I wear are $18 for a 6 pack and you are suppose to throw them away each week. I wear mine up to a month - maybe longer, but I clean them every night.

I am still not sure WHY ins companies will not pay for lasik or other BETTER procedures that are longterm best solutions. If insurance paid for it, I would look into it. My eyes are not perfect but they are good enough to get away with not doing anything. I just hope by the time I actually need to do something, lasik will be covered somewhat. It comes down to money for me I guess, I would not be afraid of it because it is very quick, not painful, and is permanent. No scars either.

I agree the ins companies shoul cover this, afterall its worthed in a long term. They are covering for glasses every second year, not to mention the doctors appointment..and adding this together is just as expensive as eye surgery.

Well, I have been wearing glasses for about 38 or so yrs. now. I would Love to have Laser surgery if I could. It is even getting a lot cheaper now, but I also know people that did it that it was only a temporary fix for them as well. But at one time I was told I was not a candidate so unless something changes, or I find some $$ I did not know about to ask more questions about it, I will have to settle for glasses as well.

If I had the money to do it, I would. I've been wearing glasses or contacts for so many years... I'd love to be able to get rid of them for good!

There are also Night Conctacts. Contacts that you wear while you sleep, then you can watch normally like any other person at day. Maybe an alternative!

My eye doctor told me those are bad for your eyes and could possibly make your eyes worse from sleeping in them. I wanted to get some but he wouldnt let me.

Well, i read on some medical websites that eye laser surgery is bad to do before person is 30yo. I dont know if its just a rumor but it makes sense. And i love to wear glasses, wouldnt do that surgery even if i got it for free

I really wanted to get it done but then I saw how they do it on tv and it scared the crap out of me to get it done. So I dont know if I would actually go through with it if I got the chance to.
