Do you know about garlic magic .....
Eat garlic. Study after study has confirmed garlic’s abilities to lower blood pressure, reduce phospholipids and cholesterol, strengthen heart action, increase immune response, reduce platelet clumping and clotting (thus reducing strokes) and stabilize blood sugar levels. Eat garlic raw or lightly cooked, several cloves a day.
So just c how important garlic is for all of us ...
Note:- As Navratra Festival is going on which prohibits eating garlic during 9 days of Navratra festival in India so dont eat garlic till 8th October 2008 as Navratra festival will be over .
Thanks
Ganesh

It's really good to eat garlic. I used to hear people telling me, garlic is good for health. But I don't know how it helps exactly. Now I know after reading your sharing. So, I think I should take more garlic on daily basis, because I have higher cholesterol rating in my recent blood test result. By eating more garlic, I hope I could bring it down. Thanks for the useful information and happy posting!

You are most welcome. But a clover a day seems like not easy for me. It's because the food seller do not cook with garlic often. The only way is to buy the garlic in bulk and store it at home. Then only it's possible for to take a clover and eat it as raw daily. Let's try with this new way of life, and hope my cholesterol will be reduced significantly by next blood test.

Hi Ganesh, before reading your information I know only garlic can lower our blood pressure as well as reduce cholesterol. Thanks for willing to share with us here that to take a certain amount of garlic daily would bring so many benefit to our body healthy.
Yeah, I have a bit high cholesterol when I had my blood check few years back.I think it is better for me to take more garlic daily, so I don’t have to worry whether my cholesterol is still higher. Well form today onward I would like to prepare more garlic when cooking meal at home. I dislike the taste and smell of raw garlic. I like the well fried chopped small pieces of garlic.
They are really good in smell and yummy in taste of this fried garlic. But I wonder whether this fried garlic is still effective as what you emphasize here is to take garlic raw or lightly cooked.
Happy posting and have a nice day.

I feel glad to read the further information here again. Yeah, I come to know that to eat raw garlic is more effective all the time. Anyway I feel happy as well there is a little less of benefit only to take cooked garlic to help improve our body health. so I still would keep on eating more cooked garlic as I am really dislike the taste as well as the smell of the raw garlic. It's rather pungent anyway. Thanks again for your valuable words. Take care.

I take garlic caps daily. For the reasons you mentioned. But it also a natural antibiotic so it's great to take to boost the immune system or when sick. It's also used in essential oil blends for earaches. I could eat raw garlic, but, well, I do like to kiss my hubby from time to time. I did plant some last year. I'm excited to use it in my cooking.

Yes, I am aware but there are some things that help with circulation and such that I can't take because they are two spicy. I can't take capsacian. Instead I take hawthorn. I incorporate all the natural medicines I can.
Keep posting. I don't know everything.

hi ganesh44, my dear friend, i know the good effects of garic. it is a good thing to eat and acts as a medicine too. the juice that gets in your system, helps relaxes the blood vessels and increase the blood flow . therefore , eating garlic may increase our natural supply of this vital chemical that is hydrogen sulfide, which plays a major role in reducing the risk of heart disease. i know it lowers ur blood pressure and helps in controlling cholestrol too. my mother - in -law is a litle obese and she takes two pieces of garlic every morning.

Except for the taste, Garlic is fantastic for it's health effects. That is why it is an integral part of the Indian cuisine. Of course, due to it's bad taste it is shunned during the festivals, but apart from the ones that you have mentioned, it is also great for cleaning up the stomach.
But, one point to remember is Garlic is hot, so if you are hot body, then garlic can cause the heat in the body to increase leading to some problems.
Cheers!

YEs...eating garlic is good. I add alot of garlic to my cooking especially in stir fry vegetables and steam ones. They are good and tasty but eating it raw....I have tried and it sort of burns my stomach a while and have to drink plenty of water to wash away the burning sensation. So now I don't eat raw garlic anymore but add alot of it to cooking

Hi there!
Yes! Eating garlic is good for the health. It has been tested and confirmed severals years ago. Here in my country there have been alternative medicines that has been produced out of garlic. A friend of mine who is a nutritionist said that we should eat raw garlic once a day. It is also good for our pets. Just like in humans.
What is Navratra festival? What do you celebrate during that festival?

Hello my friend Ganesh44 Ji,
Seeing you after long time, I thing, I am off from your side, I picked you up from
your profile now. Without smell, garlic would have been more costlier than 'Dimond'
said my father once, when hen gave me garlic as a medicine, I could not sallow due to
its un-tolerable smell. From http://www.healthcastle.com/garlic-heart.shtml
I bring you some benifits, but you may Log to continue.
"Benefits of Garlic in Heart Disease
Written by Gloria Tsang, RD last updated: October 2004
Numerous clinical trials have looked at the role and benefits of garlic supplements in
heart disease. Many of these randomized studies showed positive benefits of garlic in
heart disease: in particular, lowering total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (the Bad
cholesterol) and triglycerides (Also Read: How to lower Triglycerides?). A few small
randomized trials also suggested the benefits of garlic in the prevention of platelet
aggregation and thrombosis (the formation of plaques in the blood). Another study
also showed that aged garlic extracts lowered high blood pressure. Most of these
studies are relatively short-term, therefore we do not know if the positive benefits
of garlic will last more than 3 months. Please also note that there were a number of
studies showing conflicting results.
How much Garlic?
The American Dietetic Association suggested that in order to obtain the potential heal
th benefits of garlic, one must take 600 - 900mg (about 1 fresh clove) per day "
May god bless you and have a great day

Garlic is a wonder pack..but there's just one teeny problem - It stinks! I cannot stand the smell at all. Is there some sort of an odourless garlic supplement available? I'd love it..

I would love to be able to eat garlic, however I have an aversion to it so if I eat it I become quite ill! It has only been like this in the past year, but before then I was always eating garlic, I absolutely loved it and would use it in lots of things.

Garlic is important but as much as i wanted to try eating it. I just cant tolerate the taste. I use garlic when im cooking but i never eat them. My husband on the other hand eat garlic since it is good for the health. But i guess id rather just stay healthy by not eating fatty food to avoid any health issues in the future than eat garlic.

I love the taste of Garlic. Therefore, I use Garlic all the time when cooking. I agree with you for all what you have said. But I don't understand why it's prohibited during 9 days of Navarathri festival. Please be kind enough to let me know the reason when you have the time. I'm a buddhist and I know very little about your Navaratri festival. Thank you.
