Cricket just takes too long. The closest thing to Cricket we have is baseball. Sometimes the 2-4 hours that it takes to watch a baseball game seems too long. Americans are always on the go, and we generally dont stay anywhere for 7 hours at a time.

If you never stay anywhere more than 7 hours, how do you manage 12 hours in office or a day in school or college? Perhaps people in Commonwealth countries were more liesure loving people. Earlier people used to spend 5 days watching cricket when the test matches used to be played. Offices would come to a stand sitll with each one glued to his radio. Then the one day format came in as people slowly started losing interest in the Test match format and wanted some thing much faster. This is the age of instant gratification and people want immediate results. Rady to eat foods. Mc Donalds, Pizzas, chips, fast food. No one wants to cook before eating. Same thing with cricket. That gave birth to th 20-20 format. Though fast,it is still slow compared to other games, yet despite the time taken cricket has always been more popular than any other game.

I have heard of cricket, but I am not even sure I know what it is. Can you explain this game to me? How is it played and what is the objective? Maybe it would be something I would like to try?
