We can't find Tony

Oh Louise I am really sorry to hear that and I do so hope you find him or he finds his way home. I know this sounds crazy but do you know that he is definitely out as I heard a story about a little girl who crept under a bed to play hide and seek and the police were called as no one could find her after a couple of hours and she had in fact fallen asleep under there. I know a cat wouldn't be asleep that long but is he in a cupborad shut accidentally or something. Also get all neighbours to check their sheds and garages. Keep us updated. Huggles. Ellie :D

I am sorry Louise, I hope he comes back soon..Are there other cats around there? Sometimes a cat will follow another cat, especially if it is a female..

I am so sorry. We have lost our fair share of cats at our house too. then there were a couple cats we couldn't loose. All I can say is that I will pray that God will return Tony to you. The bible says this: Psalm 138:8The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. He cares about what you are concerned with. Keeps updated.

The same thing happened to me two nights ago! I was SOOOO sad, and I know exactly how you feel! My kitty came back a few hours after I'd finally had to go to sleep for the night. I sure hope you find him. (((HUGS)))

There is an excellent chance he will return. Cats are always very smart and can always find their way home. They say it takes 2 weeks for a cat to learn the scent of a house. So if you have outdoor cats and move, you want to keep them inside for at least 2 weeks. Well the day we moved into this house, one of my cats escaped while I was taking him out of the car. He ran down the road away from us. I tried many times to get him back, using food and any other means I could think of. The poor thing was terrified of the new area, so would not come to me. When I finally did get a hold of him he scratched me so badly on my arms I needed stitches. I was unable to hold on to him so I didn't manage to get him in. He ran further away after that little scare. I was afraid we'd lost him forever since he did not know the scent of our new home. We had to leave to take me to the hospital because I could not control the bleeding on my arm. We got back to the house around 11pm. There the cat was sitting on our front porch. He recognized the scent of our belongings that sat on the porch because we'd left in such a hurry.

cats are smart , my cat knows how to go out of my house the first day and he got back late at night knowing how to climb the stairs and remembering which block... dont worry he will be back soon...

I am so sorry Tony is missing. Did you also put up signs at major intersections? I know you have to be devistated. Please keep us informed if you find him. We have 2 pets and I am just nuts about both of them. One is a cat and the other a dog. Don't know what I'm going to do when the time comes they have to leave us.

A few years ago my indoor Siamese cat got out. We searched everywhere and it was very cold temp 23F and my poor baby had survived being brought from Germany to the US and then to be lost. My whole family was broken hearted we searched and searched but did not find her....until 23 days later a little boy came to my door and asked if my cat had blue eyes, she did and was under a bush not far from home. She was very thin and would not even come to me when called but we tempted her out with food. So do not give up hope!

I'm sorry to hear that your cat is gone. I had one cat just go out and disappear when he had gotten frail, and I think he went off to die. I also knew a friend's old female that escaped one day when repair people came into her condo and she was also never seen again. It may, sadly, be that your Tony has escaped to die. Its a cats tendency to go and hide to die. I hope you find him, but I never found Gnu and my friend never found 'Tinni.

oh dear i am so sorry to hear about that. i once lost my girl too. it was really heart wrenching and worrying. i searched for her up and down my apartment block at least three times. there was 21 storeys and i basically covered every single floor. thank goodness i got her back the next day. she was hiding in my neighbour's home. i'll keep your cat in my prayers tonight. i really hope you will find him soon. take care.

give it a few days. an indoor cat is going to get spooked by the outside world and run. but kitty knows where the house is, knows where the food is, and will return on their own eventually. thoughts that tony remains safe and sound in his adventures and returns sooner rather than later

I'm betting that he will come back. My cats are indoor cats too. Last year on Halloween my black cat escaped early that morning. I was terrified, knowing how people can sometimes be with black cats on that holiday. I spent all day long searching for her. Finally, around midnight that night she came home. Apparently she just wanted to celebrate the day alone. LOL Right now one of my "indoor" cats Spook is outside too. The last few weeks he has made it clear he doesn't like being inside. Well two days ago he made a dash for it when I let the dogs out. He has been coming each day to eat and drink the food and water I've put outside, but he has made it clear he doesn't want to come back inside. Every time I try to pick him up he runs for the trees. I hope for your sake your kitty comes home tonight after he is done prowling.

If this is new to Tony he is probubly hiding. He will come out when he's ready. If he is unnutered then it may be later rather then sooner. Please don't worry, it will not help. post pictures around the neighborhood if you can. I have been in your shoes many times and have learned not to worry, cats are very hardy and more then likely to return home, unless they get lost while traveling or are injured. Any way you look at this it's up to Tony what happens next. Good luck

I am so sorry about Tony! My cat is an indoor cat and he likes to run out the door if he gets the chance. Even though he gets out, he runs right back inside when we go to get him unless he found a hiding spot under one of the cars because he is scared. One time we couldn't find him until the next morning he was meowing on the porch. My mom had two cats that she let out all the time. Most of the time they would be gone 2-3 days before they came back. They always came back though. Keep your chin up and he will find his way home. I know how you feel so I will be thinking about you!

hhi Louise did you guys look in closets and cabinets on the off chance He might have crawled in , went to sleep, and got shut in there. I would search any cubbyhole he may have crawled in just to be sure he is still not in your house. I do hope he returns home soon wanting to be fed.

I'm sorry Tony has come up missing. I must say, though, that I'll bet he's back today. Since cats are nocturnal, he probably got his fill of catting around last night and will show up today looking for his warm bed to sleep in. Cats wander by nature. Shirley is strictly outside now, and she will take off almost two full days, but always manages to come back to her spot on the porch. I'm hopeful that Tony is back home and warm.

Sorry to hear that and hope you find him soon. Possibly he got shut in somebody's garage or somebody took him in...

Hi friend! Im so sorry for you.I hope he will be doing fine so where.And hope he will return to you at the earliest.Pray God and he will come back soon.

Somehow pets know how to find their way home. He's probably scared out there in the big world. What is your neighborhood like -- busy street traffic? What about young kids? Are there places like garages, storage areas where he can go into and maybe get locked in? If your neighbors know, they'll keep their eyes open for Tony. Keep us posted.
