Have you ever experienced domestic violence?

I was a victim for nearly 7 years. He moved me hours from family and friends and that's when hell started. I couldn't do anything right. I tried to get away many times and left him twice only to be drawn back into the lies and promises that he'd change. After one really bad beating in front of my children I finally got the strength to pack up and leave him forever. I took what I could fit in the trunk of a rented car, the kids and my last paycheck and ran. I'm so glad that I finally got strong and saw the light. I wish more people could be so lucky.

Yes, over 10 years ago, for 6 of the 6 1/2 years I was with my ex-boyfriend I was mentally and physically abused. I stayed because I was afraid to leave, afraid he would find me and hurt me more. It was an extremely awful situation and would never wish it on anybody. He beat me down emotionally and somehow made me feel I deserved every punch in the face. It is hard to explain to those who have never experienced this but getting out is very hard to do. I finally was able to leave him after he went to prison and won't be getting out for another 10 years. I am no longer afraid of him either, not worried when he gets out. If anyone who is reading this is in this type of situation tell somebody as soon as possible. I kept it from my family until it was over and they could've helped me if I would've let them know it was happening.

IT'S LIKE I WAS GLUE TO THE DISCUSTING OLD MEN. I ALSO WAS PHYICALLY ABUSED BY MY STEP MOTHER AND FIRST BOYFRIEND. CHILDHOOD SUCKED....
