I want my own house..

We moved to the since city around 2 years ago and at present, we are renting a house here. Unlike when we were still in the province my wife had a house where we stayed in (her house since she acquired it before we got married). Right now we are in the process of looking forward to buy our own house here in the city. A low cost house would do, since we are both employees with meager salaries. Do any of you guys have suggestions on where to look for? We are presently renting an apartment in makati and I've been doing a lot of thinking, the rent could be used as monthly amortization for new house. Any suggestions?
