When I was a kid, my mom insisted on
cooking Brussels sprouts every week.
Brussels sprouts taste really bad!
At least the way she cooked them.
I hated those things, but she wouldn't
take no for an answer.
Once she cooked liver and that's what
we had for dinner.
Didn't like liver much either.
Not even breaded fried liver!

Probably hominy. I hate, hate, hate that stuff. She occasionally introduced new foods, and if two out of the three of us liked it (me, my sister, my dad), she'd make it again. I don't know why she made hominy. Well yeah, I guess I do. She and my dad liked it. But she did make my sister and I eat it. Yuck!

I don't like Spam very much either. But when our power went off for 100 hours after Ike, Spam was one of the things we had to eat that didn't have to be cooked. Since it had probably been 15 years since my hubby and I ate any, it wasn't so bad.

Whew! This is a loaded question. LOL! My mom actually makes Brussel Sprouts taste good. She butters and salts them and they are one of my favorite things that she makes. But, I have eaten them made by others and, I can totally understand why most people don't like them. They are really disgusting if not made right.
I don't like Asparagus, Liver, goose, lamb, duck, veal, elk, deer or any other meats that aren't a part of a normal menu. I like chicken, pork and beef.
Once when my mom made Liver, as it was cooking, I could tell that it was liver even though I had never had it before. I asked her if it was liver...the smell was like boiled dirty underwear or something. LOL! Anyway, my Mom tried to lie to me and tell me it was beef. But, I knew. So, I put one bite of it in my mouth at dinner, bit into it and threw it up immediately. It was one of the worst things I ever put in my mouth. My mom is a really good cook. She is very talented and almost everything she makes is wonderful but, there is nothing you can do to liver, no way to flavor it, that will take away the butt taste in it. LOL! I have never had it since then and never will.

You'll probably be surprised. For me it was potatoes of any kind. Yuck. Especially mashed. I could not stand them and they would get cold which made them double yucky and finally my mother and father would insist that I could not leave the table without eating those stone cold blobs of white stuff. I'd choke them down and almost throw up. My how I hated them. My next hated thing was peas, but my dad wouldn't make me eat those. He called them "puff balls of nothing." I did discover that I liked them raw right out of the peapod. But not cooked in any way.
Oddly enough, I loved liver and onions, buttermilk, Brussels sprouts, spinach. :-) Weird kid, I guess.

I think it was egg as a breakfast, it was when I was in 3rd or 4rth grade. And before going to school mom used to fry egg for my dad and me.I was really unable to eat it.I found it so heavy for eating in the morning. Then I one day I quit it.But now I think it is good.

I went through a period when I couldn't eat eggs either. My mom made them every weekend for my dad and they were always done "over easy". Since that's how he wanted his, that's what we all got.

My mother once made me eat liver and Brussels Sprouts in the SAME meal!! i grew to love liver and onions with lots of gravy and mashed potatoes, but I still can't stand brussels sprouts. Those things are absolutely nasty. They love them but I hate them.

Mostly everything that my parents ever gave me. I think that nearly every mealtime was a trial for me! I think some of the worst that I can remember are the fish in sauce meals, oh they were so disgusting. If I knew I was having it I would have a big cup of water and I would put a mouthful in and swallow it whole with water so I did not taste it. How I did not choke I do not know. I also think it explains my problems with food as I grew older, see everyone goes on about how important it is to eat healthy, but from experience I know if it is forced on a child they will grow up and hate it. I did, and once I left home I never ate healthily, I ate what I wanted too and I now have no end of food problems. I make sure that my kids have a healthy balance yet what they eat they enjoy, not like me!! Oh and the other was liver and kidney, and no way in this world will I eat that either!!

Bless your heart. Parents do need to try to balance the good stuff with SOME treats. :-)
Personally I loved liver and kidneys.

Cold butter is never good.
For some reason, my mom would spread
cold butter or margarine over bread
or rolls and serve that with dinner.
Yuck!

I hated Brinjals and bitter Gaurd when I was a child. I just could not stand them. When my younger brotehr was getting married, his mother-in-law had made brinjals and I did not realise that it was brinjal. I ate it and enjoyed its taste. After I had finished it,I was told that it was brinjal. I realised that brinjals are not as bad as i thought soIstarted eating it once in a while. Now I eat these two vegetables with pleasure and relish them.

i absolutley hated brussel sprouts and brocolie, there was just something about them. But lucky for me, mum never used to use them in her cooking because she didnt used to like them as a kid eather, but we still ate a lot of vegitable and mum always found a way to make them yummy for us. But anyways, i really dont like them and i was very lucky not to have to eat them because i was eating other vegitable instead so i wasnt missing out on any nutritiens.
Happy MyLotting!

I'd have to respond by saying Liver and onions were the worst foods (together) that I've ever tasted. I hate the way liver smells and tastes. I feel like vommitting everytime I'm even in the same building as it.
I has liver senses

I absolutely detested liver as a child, brussel sprouts were a close second. I was made to eat it because "its good for you" was what I was always told. I don't make my daughter eat these things if she does not like them. I think that she may change her tune about them over the years if they are not forced upon her. I do however ask her to try them and see what she thinks.

If I had to eat liver now,
I'd smother it in sour cream and
salsa.
And, then eat it with chips.
That might take away from the taste.

OH, my list is long long long.
I hated grits, had to eat them though, they made me gag.
Did not like beets, split pea soup, pig feet, cabbage, liver, learned to like liver after I got older, but now I do not eat it anymore.
Oatmeal, was another hater, green peas ugh, and kind of beans did not like them. Sweet potatoes, was another one I could not stomach.
Like I said, my list can go on and on

The worst thing my parents have ever made me eat was goat. The way they made it, it was just horrible! I didn't like bell peppers much either though...
