[i][b]Hello dear friends and fellow myLotters. I was chatting with a fellow myLotter on YM awhile ago. Then suddenly I received an Instant Message that belongs to none of those on my contacts. I got curious, so I clicked the link that he sent me. I got curious because my email add was in it. When I clicked it a Youtube page opened up then after awhile a warning appeared it says:Reported Attack Site:
This web site at www.freewebtown.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.
Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners.
Upon seeing this, I automatically closed the site so as not to do further harm on my laptop. Badly, I wasn't able to retrieve the link because I automatically blocked the user from my messenger. My last response to him was "What's this? Are you spying on me?" Because the link has to do with my webcam. Could it be possible for a person to have a link or should I say access, on another webcam? Have you ever experienced like this while chatting? If yes, what did you do? Is my account being hacked?

It could probably be a hacker, I am not also sure but receiving a message from someone who is not even in the list of your contacts is really something to worry about especially with such such kind of message. You did the right thing I believe. It's better to block the user. When doubtful just close so if it is a hacker he loose the chance of getting through your site.

I am not sure what the site or that link had caused your system. But I can say that it was something like spying. You made the right decision to block the email address and for not continuing on the process. I am really not sure what had it done to your laptop. When I encounter something like what you have experience, I also did the same by blocking the address and immediately closing the browser. Maybe you can try to scan your system for viruses and spyware and other adwares. The link may have intalled something in your computer that you have no knowledge. Be careful next time. Miss you best.

Well, I think you did the right thing. It is possible that the site contains spywares or viruses. Regarding your question, I don't know if it is possible, but for big-time computer hackers, it's a different story. So it's better to be cautious at all times and not explore sites such as this further and close unwanted sites that appear automatically (most of the time they cause trouble).

Hi redkathy, I was wondering how he got my email add. I don't give my contacts to people I don't know. I've set the privacy of my messenger and visible only to my contacts. I've turned off "show me as online to other web pages". I really got nervous because I do use my webcam whenever I chat or talk to my husband and to my close friends.

I wold have freaked. You are lucky your preferences are set up like they are and it saved you alot of harm or damage to your computer. I haven't experienced that yet I do chat with a few mylotters occasionally. Sorry about your ordeal.

Hi dhangski, till now I've not experienced any of such thing you have mentioned but definitely will get nervous if somebody does like this. Is automatically blocking the only solution? Is there any other way of retrieving the link of such person?

dhangski sounds like you might have a virus or spywarebot
'on your computer but again you got a warning so was that'
your virus protection telling you of an attack site?I have never seen anything quite like that as I dont do any chatting.
I dont know if your account is being hacked or not. If you have a good anti virus program you can go into it and check to see if the anti virus program has put anything in storage.

Hello Dhang. I havent use cam for reason that one of my hater can actually spy on me without me knowing. It's common in the chatroom where I used to frequent a lot back then, where this pinay haters just keep posting photos on pinays he caught on cam.
He has been banned numerous times from different site for posting such photos. Some are even more private and it was really horrible to have them posted in public and he invited everyone to view. I don't really know how he had done it. So I quit using cam eversince.
Usually even if you dont know the person that sent you a private message. Sometimes in yahoo directory, it will show there that you are online and with cam. If I cam, I try to be invisible on my messenger. Hope this helps.
Cheers hun!

Hi, Dhangski! I've been chatting for quite sometime already but never once have I encountered that thing you're saying. Good for me, noh? And another thing, it's good that I come across this discussion of yours. This way, I'll be more cautious from now on. Many times have our curiosity leads us to uncautious, right?
Your topic is just like a warning, especially for me who doesn't experience it before. And I thank you for that.
Regards!
