I was watching TV and there is snow in our mountains.

Not much snow, they aren't going to open any ski lifts or anything, but there was a dusting in the highest elevations. Do you have snow where you are? Are you in a high, medium, or low elevation? Mine is low. I don't have any snow. We've had below 32 degrees F a couple of nights, but no perciptation at the same time.

May I ask where you're from then?? Quite curious about that LOL! I live in Hungary and there hasn't been any snow yet the last couple of days. Nevertheless, there was some in the beginning of September! I live in Hungary, and it was very weird..It was near dew point, and there did fell down some snow! Not like it was staying on the ground, but it was coming down, and it was very white! Beautiful thing to see, I must say! Especially for SEPTEMBER!!

I'm in the Northern Part of the United States, the top part of New York State, but I think a lot of the higher moutains are in Vermont close to us. I don't think this will stay either. Once in awhile we get snow in September. Thanks for responding, I don't think anyone from Hungary has ever responded to my posts. Take care

Nope no snow here and not looking forward to it either..Of course if we had mountains around us, we might have snow, but I doubt it since the lows have only gone down to the 40's..But that is cold enough for me..Brrrr..

I am sure those mountains are beautiful too..since I haven't lived near mountains, but have visited and read about them, you are right, it probably would have snow since it is colder higher up...You should take pictures, especially if the mountains have trees on them, wouldn't the leaves already have changed color? That would be pretty..:)

Often when the lowlands are in the low 40s, the highlands are in the 30s. If there is parcipitation, then snow. So if you had mountains, they might have snow by now. It's often 10 degrees or more, cooler up there. People often forget to bring coats if it's nice where they are and then go up mountains. As soon as they stop moving, they're cold. 68 degrees becomes 58 pretty fast, esp. with trees shading things as they do here. It would be strange for me to live where there are not mountains, our valley is surrounded on two sides from 6 miles south of me on (I moved up here, I lived 10 miles south, so I always saw mountains, here I see them every day that I go somewhere). Actually there are still mountains, but they bow out far enough that the horizon hides them in our area unless we travel East or West quite aways and see them. Take care and thanks for the response.

The trees are changing color and the ones that fall off won't be there by the time the snow covers. The lower mountains have deciduous trees (leaves fall off) and the higher mountains, at least part if not all, have evergreen leaves(pine, ceder,etc.). I'm defining this stuff for my foreign friends who may have difficulty with the language. I still need to buy a good digital camera. All my money goes for bills right now. Plus I'm paying for my taxes in three installments. Lucky a Star Exemption came in the mail so I can afford to pay this month's tax, last month my husband paid it. Next month? Or was it 4? I hope it wasn't 4, that means I have to pay at Christmastime, too. Where or where would I get the money then? I wish I hadn't thought of it. If and when I can pay for one, I definitely want to put some pictures on my profile with trees. Take care.

Hi writersedge, I’m from a tropical country where the weather here is hot all year round so definitely we don’t have any chance to sight snow, even on the top of the highest mountain here. So I could see those fascinated snowy landscapes only by watching documentaries or movies. I was so happy that few years back I finally to have the opportunity to see the lovely snow with my own eyes. We were having our two days vacation on the top of Emei Mountain during the china trip in Sichuan Province. It’s really excited to have fun to make and to throw snowballs as well in the spacious snowy outdoor. It was really amazing for a person from a tropical country to sight and to be in the fantastic snow scene. It was a beautiful indelible remembrance. posting and have a nice day.

I bet that was really, really neat for you. Some people from desert areas in my country haven't seen snow or at least haven't seen any hit the ground and stay. They have fun in it, too. Snow is fun when you're young, seasons become different when you're old and arthritic. Take care.

So how long ago was that? Tropical to snow must be very different. I haven't been to a desert, I think that would be very different. You have a nice day, too and thank you very much for responding.

nope, no snow - hasn't been below 50º yet - sadly. Still getting into the 90's. I'm ready for some cooler weather!

I am so ready for cool weather! The heat and the cold both bother my fibro, but at least with the cold I can breath!

I can imagine. I'll be glad when the dampness is done, at least without dampness, I can move!

I wouldn't be able to stand 90s for a long period of time. My rosacea in my skin and my eyes, esp. my eyes, it would be terrible. I bet you are ready for cooler weather!

We live pretty far south in the U.S. so we do not get snow here. We may have one or 2 nights during the winter that drop to the 30s, but it's pretty rare. I do not know what our elevation is. Hm, I wonder if that's something I should know.

If you flood a lot, low elevation, if you flood occasionally, med. elevation, if you don't flood, probably high, but it also depends how close you are to a river, too. So that doesn't always work. If you were to go climbing the elevation you're used to versus the ones you will be assending, you might want to know. Take care.

The town where I live is Elevation, 1016 feet above sea level. Land Area, 5 Square Miles. So, NO we're NOT having snow!!! As a matter of fact it is 72° right now. Even in the middle of winter on our coldest days do we get snow. It's been several years since it snowed so I am anticipating some this winter. We won't have any for years & then... BOOM...we're covered. I like the NONE years & dread the BOOM year!!! We seldom even see a dusting here

I'm guessing that's southwest US. 72 would be lovely. It's not snow I could do without every few years, but dampness. Thanks for responding and take care.

Georgia gets snow once in awhile? Strange, I thought it was swamp and looked like the pictures in the Tarzan show. Wasn't Tarzan filmed in Georgia? The TV show, not the movies. Don't you have a lot of humidity down there? We have a lot up here, esp. some years. Except the years of drought. How goes the gas down there? Is the situation getting any better? Thanks and take care.

Thought I heard it snowed last week or the week before in the mountains in Colorado. Don't think it was much snow but seems so early in the year. Nights have been cool and early morning is very cool. It feels crispy outside but is definitely jacket or sweater weather. We do get snow but not until December or January. A few years ago it snowed at Thanksgiving but haven't seen snow around that time of the year for the last couple of years. I love the snow but hate the streets all covered with snow and ice. I stay off the streets during bad weather.

Colorado, mile high area, seems to beat everyone most years for snow. We had three years in a row when it snowed on Halloween. Made it really, really miserable for the few kids that go door to door. Bet they called it a night early. Bet they do Halloween with winter coats this year. Last year it was balmy with 68 degrees. Wonderful night. It's so dark where I live early that I hate coming home when they're trick or treating. I can't see them until the last minute. I wish they would use those snap lights. I may buy some for my neighbor's kids if I have any money before Halloween. I don't have to drive that night, but my husband is back on 5 eights instead of 4 tens for work days, so I want to make sure he doesn't hit anyone. They're only a dollar each at the Dollar store, if there are any left by the time I get money. Take care and thanks. In really, really late years we don't get snow until Dec or Jan. But most, right after Thanksgiving if not before. Thanks and take care.
