Do banks make too much profit on us from service fees? Should we revolt and keep our money in our matress like they used to do in the old days?

I would consider that more than obvious! I name banks..the legal "Godfather"..take one simple think..at least here in europe. You deposit your money they give 1 letsa max of 4 %..when you borrow from them they start from 10-15%...

Keeping it in a mattress is not very practical. However, the biggest source of fees for banks is non-bank ATM fees. THis is when you use another bank's ATM machine to get money from your bank. Even though it is only $2, this adds up from everyone doing it. So, screw the banks, only use your bank's ATM machines. Or get cash from a point-of-service transaction such as buying groceries. THere are no fees associated with this.

I feel that they do. Especially with all the self service going on. I do my banking online most of the time. I do not write a lot of checks, and I am not unusual. So there cost I would think is becoming less and less. So why are we paying more and more.
