Is it right for Heads of State to have all that wealth and priveledge?

Why on earth should I ask such an awful question?
Because, tell you what ... you should see how much property and land says 'Crown Property ...' as you drive away from Windsor Castle in Berkshire - it would make your mind boggle.
But of course, that's not to mention the stunning estate in Scotland, and what about all the other places?, then there's all those priceless gifts presented to royalty by the vast amount of visitors they receive. Nice work if you can get it!!
You'll pardon me if I speak my mind but, I thought that the Queen, President Bush and all the other heads of state were, well, "Humans". Or are they, as individuals, somehow 'Superhuman', something 'extra special'?
Have you ever seen any head of state on the front line, gun-in-hand, during a war? Well have you? Nor me!
Just to invert this perspective, have you ever driven through London at night and seen other humans trying to sleep under cardboard boxes which they stole from a shop's rubbish? - walking distance from Buckingham Palace!, or in Washington? - walking distance from The White House!
Bottom line ... quote - "We are all equal, but some are more equal than others!"

Great post!
Should it surprise you that there are people in America that live with
less income in a year than their Congressman makes in a month?
After the president leaves office our tax money still pays him, too!
(how stupid - he left being a multi-millionaire)
I once read a auto-biography on Karl Marx and often wonder why some
of his theories were not put in place. He thought there should be
equality among us.
Yes, it's a sad world where the rich don't care about the common man.
That is just the reason for America to vote for Obama. Democrats always
care more and help the common man and WE know that!

Another good comment.
There definitely seems to be a gulf between the majority natives of a given country and the people who would claim that 'they run it', in terms of salary, assets and general wealth & priveledge.
I bitterly resent it when heads of state are obscenely rich. I mean more wealthy than they could ever hope to utilise. Yet, I don't recall them donating a proportionate amount of their wealth to the genuine needy, but they are quick to 'beat-the-drum' about what they do give.
We could all donate a drop in the ocean, and then bleat to the world about it.

I do believe heads of State should be paid well but then that should be all they get, from what I can gather is they get more in the free perks than what they get paid, they should get paid for what they do then pay everything else themselves like the rest of us have to do...if the poor people in this world got the perks that they get they wouldn't be living in the streets...

Yes, I agree with you. I find the opulence of these peoples lives little more than an insult to us masses, and a practical demonstration of the effectiveness of brainwashing of us all.
Thanks for your comment,
