would you live here in the Philippines for the rest of your lives or do you plan to immigrate to a foreign country? nowadays, many are following the braindrane trend. would you follow their footsteps, as well? or would you stay here in our MOTHERLAND?

Hi unfathomablesisa! There will never be a replacement in living in your own country, particularly here in the Philippines where people are close and highly concerned with one another. But the economic crisis that we have and less job opportunities had forced most of our countrymen to try their luck in other countries. We always wanted the best for our family particularly the future of our children. Me, I'm also planning of seeking job opportunities in other country and have a pending petition to live in other countries. But when I grew old I wanted to retired and live the rest of my life here in my motherland.

I dont really know what's gonna happen in the future. Only time will tell. But right now i want to stay here in the philippines and continue my stress-free life here in our country. I know alot of people are leaving but they are leaving because they cant find a decent, good paying job here. Well, i for one am leaving a very simple life so i dont really need that much money. Im satisfied with what i am earning here. I guess if im going abroad, it would only be for a vacation.

families & friends have been inviting me to work abroad & eventually live there but i was never enticed. i thought of it once & almost got into it when they we're giving me positive feedbacks. (there are more negative feedbacks though) but i still stick to my decision. why should i leave my country if it has been generous to me? i mean yes generally almost 50% of our population are deprived but i too experienced the harsh crisis here. but i learned to strive. striving, success or whatever we call it is not synanymous to living & working abroad. we can infact be successful without leaving our country. i'll aways be proud of my race & my color & i'll never replace the pronunciation of my family name into that of a foreign name nor make my name into something foreign or change my nationality. no offense to others but i'm just being true. this is my pride & my share for my country.

mapi, i adore your patriotism. well, i don't have any plans of changing my name. and i also do believe that success depends on performance, but i am eager to experience new culture, see new faces, work with a totally different environment. i would like to become a successful member of the academe and be a success in the research field, as well... hence, i really want to experience work far from the philippines--to meet new professionals :)

It all depends on your otlook in life. If you feel that you can live and survive in the Philippines with all the politcal issues and economical problems then why not stay. Those who decided to migrate feel no hope and will start a new beginning in other countries. Just always remember that migrating to other countries will be a lot more difficult beucase of the culture and language. For me, I would rather stay here and take care of my business.

I like to stay in my country and live here all my life. But I don't want to deprive my son of his life. I will soon be joining my english hubby in England. Even though i'd rather remain in the comfort of my home and close to my family. I know my hubby and son will need me. But we do have plans to stay in Philippines permanently after we can save a little. But my son will have to decide that for himself. He is but 5yo only, so I wish he will be more comfortable in england as he is here in Cavite. :D
