What will you do if a TV wants to interview you when you are in the street?

I am going to make a feast tonight and therefore after lunch I went to the market to buy the food. At that time the a reporter came to me and asked me to have an interview. Oh, the TV recorder was just nearby. I was so shy and declined it. I don't want to be shown in TV although actually maybe not many of my friends find it

I'd be shy too!
Very self conscious!
I would have to say no
to the interviewer.

Well, I have participated on a quite a few times. Once when we were playing cricket for my company, a TV reporter from a local channel came around asking about India's prospects in the upcoming World Cup and I gave my expert opinion on the subject :)
It was shown that evening and I did not do too bad either :)
Cheers!

I think it would depend on the question or what i have to say... if it is something about the place or just ordinary things... then i would gladly oblige... but if the question is about a controversial topic... then i would decline... i do not want to be angry in front of the camera...

This has already happened to me at least once and I always declined. I don't want people to see me on TV. I get enough attention just doing nothing and I don't need the aggravation of being seen on TV making things worse. I remember one reporter was begging me because no one else wanted to be interviewed, either and she was desperate. I've also seen a lot of other reporters trying to get interviewees and being unsuccessful and I find it hilarious.

Something similar happened to me once. i was walking through the town square looking for a bus, after I'd come from some business at the bank, when I saw some reporters. I walked across the street to where my bus would be, and one of the reporters asked me if I wanted to meet a local politician. It turned out he was a member of the party for which I normally voted, so i was more than pleased to meet him, and get on TV. It was great!

Well I am a shy individual. I donot want to appear in front of the camera suddenly unexpectedly. I will try to answer the questions depending up on the topics. I think it would surprise me because I do not expect this kind of situation and I was surprised when I read the discussion. Anyway I will answer the questions and try to be calm in front of camera.

I would hate it! There is no way I would want to be interviewed for tv. A few years ago my son and I were collared by a paper and our photo was taken and put in it and that was horrible. When I look at it now it makes me cringe. No, I avoid them at all costs if I see them when I am out.

well i do answer them. well specially if you are one of the few who can make things clear. for us to be interviewed is a must. sometimes we even go to the stations just to be on air and be interviewed on tv or radio.

It would depend on the topic and the angle they were going with it. Regardless of the topic it can always be reported in two different lights, good or bad. I am one that tends to disagree with the sensationalism of negative reporting. I wrote for a small town newspaper where the people didn't like all the negative reporting and some big town people came in to take it over. Now all we seem to get is the negativity.

They say that everyone in their lifetime gets 15 minutes of fame, well I think I'd feel the same way as you and would decline the offer of appearing on TV, I am also shy believe it or not! Not shy online but offline well you couldn't have met a shyer person than me. So there is no way I'd agree, I tend to walk around with my Ipod on anyhow so no one would approach me, good trick eh!

Hi! I already got interviewed once. The topic was on "education", and since I'm a teacher, I obliged. For me, it depends on the interview. If the issue has relevance to the present times, then there's no problem for me. The topics I would find irrelevant are the ones that would ask me how I felt after watching a certain movie, or the ones that would ask me to take sides on an argument that is so shallow, like perhaps between fighting showbiz or political personalities.

Good evening, youless. When I happen to be asked for a TV interview, I will surely feel so happy as to answer any questions that the reporter may ask me. I think that it is a great honor to be interviewed and will be later seen on TV. It is so exciting. But youless, you have really lost a very good chance to show yourself on TV. I didn't know that youless is on the shy side. Next time be brave to make good of the chance, youless.
