Does Any One Believe That Kids Shouldnt Be Watchen Rated R movies,or M Games

I was wondering if any one here believes that kids should be able to play M rated games and Watch M rated movies? I am asking this because I have a brother that always fights with my mom about playing my video games and watching my movies.I believe that he could because he sees violence every day and language. I dont think that video games make kids wont to go do that in real life. I hope u reply with your thought. I really wont to hear what other people have to say. even though he may see it every day, playing games and watching movies that are like that is reinforcing that it is ok. it will make him think that this type of violence and profanity and such is alright. how old is your brother?

sorry to respond so late! i definitely think that 10 years old is way too young to be playing violent games and watching violent shows. like i said before, these things are just going to be reinforcing to your brother that stuff like that is ok. do you really want your little brother learning things like that? the fact that he sees it in real life is besides the point, i think. you can tell him that something is wrong, but if he sees you, someone he looks up to, doing the same things and letting him do it, too, that is sending the wrong message. kids grow up so fast now as it is- why force it even more? this is just my opinion, but i wouldn't want him playing and watching those things if he were my son, either. like i said, remember that he most likely idolizes you, whether you think so or not, and is watching everything you do and say- be a good example for him to follow so that he can grow up to be a good person and a gentleman! :)
