I'm Thirty Today! How Did You Feel When You Turned Thirty Or About Turning It?

Maxine - Woke Up Breathing - Just another funny old age pun coming from our favorite old lady "Maxine" LOL...

I turned thirty today ... Ok, so, I have been dreading this for a long time and now it's here. Growing up, to me, thirty always seemed so old LOL...Now I'm thirty!!! It's so funny because growing up I always looked younger than what I was and some say that I still do (which I'm so not complaining about!). When I was younger I used to hate it and I always wanted to look older. My mom would tell me "Don't rush it because it goes fast." I always laughed when she would say that, as well as "Once you hit twenty, it flies by." I never believed her much when she would say that to me but she was right! Once I hit twenty, things just flew by and now I wonder where all my years went and I find myself regretting not enjoying them more and doing the things that I always dreamed that I would do doing at that time in my life. However, I feel like I still have a good amount of years left and I hope that my thirties will be a lot more fun and rewarding than my twenties were. Still, I'm still bummed out today that I turned thirty and so, I want to hear your experiences and opinions on turning thirty, whether you've reached that age yet or not.... Just for the record though, I'm not going down without a fight and I'll always be a big kid at heart. Some say that that keeps you young, one can only hope that it in fact does. One of my favorite quotes goes "You don't quit playing because you grow old, you grow old because you quit playing" and I tend to agree with that. May all of us old ladies never quit playing and there for never grow old!!! Hehe...

Happy belated birthday to you MrsFairWells! I think a lot of people think 30 is old, at least when they are kids. I know I did! LOL But when I had my 30th birthday 3 years ago it didn't bother any. After all, it is just a number. However when I look at my kids who are 11 and 8, that makes me feel old! LOL Heck, I even made a lady who works at the grocery store feel old when she found out how old they were! Seeing that she has seen me shop there before I had my kids it is no wonder she felt like this! I was the opposite of you. Growing up I looked older than I was, but now that I am 33 I've been told by others that I look younger than I am. Which always makes me feel good. So, what did you do for your birthday?

I actually don't celebrate birthdays but in any case, I spent the day taking care of my puppy, who were dicovered had worms. I was happy for the distraction however ... I would imagine that having kids and seeing them grow up would definitely make a person feel old. I know that I have watched my niece and nephew grow up and that's made me feel very old LOL...I wish they would stay babies! :-( Thanks so much for your comment!!!

Oh, I also wanted to say how very cool it is to look younger as you get older, now that doesn't happen very often, so enjoy it! I wish that would happen to me lol...

Well mrsfairswells, I am 28 years old and I feel like I am 40. My parents were very old...my dad was 70 when he had me and my mom was 41 sooo i never considered 30 old. Now that I am approaching 30 i think i am getting old but i think it is because I feel like I am 40. I found out the time flew by once hit 25...so only 3 years has flown bye. I hope i still fell this way when I hit 30. I hate thinking about growing up but I think I already have...being a mom of 2 kids with a step daughter as well is very tiring...plus I baby sit 2 other children. I need a vacation. Thanks mag

I feel fine about turning 30, it just another ordinary day! Yes I know all the jokes about old age. But I feel 18ish not thirty. You only feel old in your mind!
