I recently read a posting on mylot that was about how to deal with the flirtation of ugly girls. What ever happened to judge not. Why can't people look for qualities instead of flaws. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we could see the positives instead of the negatives? How do you feel about our judgmental community? Do you describe a person by their qualities instead of their shortcomings? Thanks for reading my post. I hope you leave a comment today. Happy Mylotting.

Hello, glords. I didn't see this posting you're talking about but seeing that you started this discussion about a month ago, then I probably missed it. I don't think it's worth searching for and reading all the negativity in there. Yes, the world would be a better place if people find the good instead of the bad. Or at least, just emphasize the good over the bad. A lot of people need to feel better about themselves that is why they take part in judging other people. I work with adult individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. I quickly learned that one should always introduce people as the person and not the disability or shortcomings they may have. Take care of yourself!

Thanks, glords. It could be challenging. I've been on training for the past two weeks and today I start as being an official support there. Sometimes, I go home tired but there is never a day that I leave work feeling rewarded. Thanks again.

SaintAnne,
You really are a Saint. What a wonderful job you have. The world needs more angels out there like you. I've met so many people... especially in social services and medicine, that have forgotten about the people that they work with. I'm sure the people you work with are very grateful for someone who sees them as a person instead of a job.

There are those ppl that judge by nothing but what's on the outside. I guess that's why I loved the movie Shallow Hal. I've seen some really beautiful ppl that are really ugly inside and some not so lovely looking ppl that have a heart of gold. I think these ppl that are so shallow are really missing out on alot.

I couldn't agree with you more... However, I didn't really like the movie that much. It sure made a lot of cheep jokes about fat and ugly people for being a movie intended to teach tolerance.
Its too bad more people wouldn't look inside.
Thanks for posting.

I saw the posting for that topic too, I didn't even bother to read it. Why judge people at all, especially on looks and "beauty." Who are we to judge other people, everyone has shortcomings and everyone makes mistakes. There is no cookie cutter mold of how a person should be. It peeves me when people pass judgement and don't even bother getting to know a person because of something petty.

I agree. I had to bite my tongue or should I say my pen err fingers, not to respond negatively. I just get so irritated when people are judgmental. I think when you start throwing out insults, the problem is generally you, not someone else. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.
