In my younger days I went backpacking and it was a cheap way to travel. When I was 18 I went around Europe by train and stayed in youth hostels. At age 20 I went around the world by air. I stayed in backpacker hostels and got a working holiday visa for Australia. I worked as a children's nanny and in factory packing paper into hand bags. I did some charity work. Backpacking is some of my happiest memories and I recommend it for low budget traveling. If a man has $1000 he could spend ten days in Japan in nice accommodation or he could go backpacking around Asia for three months.
Would you feel happy having a backpack?
How do you think you would like to stay in a backpackers hostel?
Which country or countries would you go to?

Believe it or not I have only gone backpacking once in life my friend and that was only in this country, well Scotland to be precise, I went in 1996 I travelled up to the East coast of Scotland by train, staying in small privately run B&B's it was great fun, I went for 3 weeks in total just living out of my backpack, I had a special train ticket that I was allowed to use as a rover and I went all the way up to John O Groats at the top. I didn't eat much so expenses were kept to a minimum, I had a big breakfast then during the day I bought light snacks or munched on fruit as well, I was very active and I got around and saw a lot of things relying on public transport.

Well, I think I must say NO to this one. And this is because I really love to travel and live in comfort. I need to sleep in normal places, I need to have shower in the morning and in the evening, and by shower I mean good shower, clean and nice. I need to have electricity to use hair dryer and plug in my laptop. So, no. I don't want to go backpacking anymore. I am so used to comfort.
