What exercise helps to firm up a sagging jaw and/or firm up a neck?

Do you do any exercise that helps your jowels as my Mother used to call them? How did you learn them? Who taught them to you or did you read about them? Can you describe them? How many do you do? Have they made a difference? How long have you been doing them? When did you notice a difference (after how many weeks or months)? My neck isn't too bad, but the bottom of my face looks like a double chin is starting, but lots of it is loose skin. Any ideas for tightening that area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care.

I do them ocassionally. I found some wonderful online sites that give step by step instructions. I have been told I don't need to yet. But practice makes perfect. Better I think to get in the habit so it becomes routine. Here is one site. http://www.ageless.co.za/facialneck.htm

Thank you very much. I'm going to be doing a lot of exercise tomorrow, if all goes as planned and that should end up being included in it. How long have you been doing these exercises? Do you feel like you have firmer body parts? How long did it take you to get good at it and to feel any difference? Thank you very much and take care.

Thanks for the tip, ersmommy1! Went to that site. I have done exercises for the neck and chin before, but these were some new ones.

Your welcome! I only do them once in a while. When I actually remember to do them.

Oh writer, if only I had my other computer..I have a friend from India who would blog these health tips along with certain exercises and I remember one was in the face and jaw area..I would copy what I thought was interesting and put it into word in my documents, but they are gone.. I do remember one though, it had to do with pretending to catch a fly, if you can imagine how a frog catches a fly, that I believe was one of the exercises she shared...Give me some time, maybe, just maybe I was wise and sent that info to my other e-mail address, if so you will get all you need.. Oh, and I have tried it, but not consistently so I can't tell if it works or not..

It isn't just sticking your tongue out, it also is moving your head up and away..Like if the fly was above you on the right and then on the left, going back and forth and also sticking your lower jaw out too..I am sorry though, I did look, I didn't send that document to my mail, so I don't have the other exercises, so hopefully someone here had some good info for you..

Well, I stuck out my tongue like I was trying to catch a fly and it did pull my jowls up, but I wonder how many I have to build up to in order to make it work? I hope you get that computer back soon. Take care and thanks.

Your belly? Crunches, and pull in your stomach when you come up. What does this have to do with chins, jaws, and necks?

Well, my sister tells me she does these tongue exercises where she pushes her tongue flat (as flat as you can) up against the roof of her mouth and "pulses" it there, just keeps pushing it, sort of like a tongue push-up! Isn't that crazy? If you do them while you are watching in a mirror, you will see that, ever so slightly, the area below your chin "flexes". It's sort of like an isometric exercise. My sister read about the exercises to reduce a double chin in a magazine and told me about them. I don't really think about doing the tongue exercises much but I do them periodically. I will say that the only things that have ever kept my double chin away is to 1--lose weight (even 5 lbs.) and 2--walk or swim daily. It sounds crazy but the first place I lose weight is in my face! Even my husband always notices that and comments.

I inherited my Dad's chin and when he lost weight, the skin just hung there, my skin is hanging and I haven't even lost the weight yet, so I'm worried, just tried the tongue push-up. Actually seems to work. Wonder how many I need to build up to it and how long it takes to see the results. Thanks and take care.

Well, I am not familiar with jaw exercise. What I do is just open my mouth wide. Then I move my lower jaw from right to left counting 1-8 and vice versa.
