Do you know people who refuse to improve their financial situation?

I ask this because I know of a few people that do nothing all the time but complain about how broke they are and how they are always fixing to lose everything but when you offer advice to help them earn money they just totally ignore your advice and just continue complaining. Do you know people like this? And if you do why do you think they refuse to improve their financial situation?

Hi Cassandralynn, I am the type of person that will help anybody who is prepared to help themselves so I avoid having this type of person in my life. In life what you resist persists therefore if they are always moaning they are skin they will continue to be, I am very rich in so many areas but financially my needs are always met and I don't have credit of any sort, if I want something I workd harder and save for it and visualise myself already owning it and it tends to ome about far quicker. For example and this is a funny one I would like to share, when I moved home, there were spaces in the kitchen for an under counter fridge and freezer, I had a tall fridge freezer and a gap and plumbing for a dishwasher, something I had never had. Well I put a wanted on our local Freecycle and got the fridge and the freezer and then put my fridge/freezer up for offer and a new neighbour popped round and I jokingly said now all I am waiting for to arrive is a dishwasher, well it just so happened that they had a brand new dishwasher in their shed that their sister had given them when they moved only they didn't have the space in their kitchen as a much smaller house. It was a perfect fit. So you don't even require money to obtain certain luxuries just be open to receiving and freely give also. Huggles. Ellie :D

Wow Ellie! You were really blessed with a complete kitchen make-over :).. that awesome! Most of my basic needs are also met. I really don't buy something just for the sake of having it. I also like freecycle and I love the freebie section of Craigslist. And I do agree with you about not always needing money to have luxuries. I have been really blessed lately with some really great free things I have been needing for awhile. It's a great feeling to be able to have these things without having to spend a lot of money or any money. Somehow we are always taken' care of.. Thanks for commenting :)

Yes, I do. I have one friend who lost her job and had no other job in sight yet she still insists on trying to buy me lunch when we go out and still buys the most expensive cat food, litter and other supplies. I clean her house and she always has way more food in her fridge than one person needs. Which would be fine except I get sick when I clean her refrigerator out because I have to throw a lot of expensive food out that she never even touched. I have been trying subtly for years to get her to stop using her credit cards for small purchases but she just doesn't listen.

Wow! does she have a secret sugar daddy she's not telling you about? lol I don't understand people like that also. Nor do I understand people who make big financial spending plans for the up and coming week and they are flat broke without a job. Maybe people like your friend are optimistic about their finances working out one way or another.

I know a few ppl like that...I think that they are so used to living their lives that way that they see no reason to change it. Until they are put in a situation that they have to change, chances are they won't. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

Oh, one of my pet peeves. I might have been below the poverty line at times, but I have always worked somewhere, somehow. Heck, I use to work as a waitress for three dollars an hour, and still paid bills, rent, bought groceries and went out with my hubby and friends.
