I don't know what the problem is that you have been asked to have a heart cath. But I have had two of them and I know it can be frightening. But the actual cath is not bad and is over quickly without any pain at all. It is what can be found out that might be wrong with me at the time that is the most frightening. Fortunately, both times my results were good and there was nothing wrong. If you are at risk here for something being wrong with your heart, don't be afraid of the heart cath. Be more afraid of not finding out what is wrong and getting the right treatment. Life is too precious to not do what is necessary to take care of your health. How old are your boys and why are they afraid of letting you have this procedure? Please talk it over with your doctor again and again, and have your boys there with you if necessary. This should be your decision, not anyone else's.

No you did not mislead us! I know you were sincere in asking for prayers and we were all set to go. But with your two sons opposing and probably they have good reasons I believe you have nothing to apologize. I do understand and the others will certainly do as well. Just please ask the doctor if not doing it will not be risky for you. Don't worry about us because I for one and surely the rest as well are more concerned about your health now. I've just known the process would involve insertion of a catheter in one of the vessels of your heart. Ohhh... I surely will be including you in my everyday prayer.

I think its great that you listened to your kids. My father had a surgery a year ago that none of his family felt comfortable about. Everyone said don't go, except me. I didn't want him to go, but I figured the doctors wouldn't have suggested it, if it would hurt him. I supported him, and it killed him. I wish I'd told him my true feelings, but the rest of the kids did, and it didn't change his mind. Everyday I wonder if he would have changed his mind without my support. I guess I'll never know. Anyhow I'm glad you listened to you children. I don't think it makes you loonie one bit. I'll pray that it will be the right decision for you and your family.

I am concerned. Why do your sons want you to not have this procedure? Is this investigative, or is it to repair something. I am usually pretty well informed about medical issues, but not quite sure why people undergo heart cath procedures. Is there an alternative that you could have done?

they are worried it might throw me into a stroke or cause me to have a heart attack. they just didn't have a good feeling about it & i didn't either. since 2000 i have had nothing but serious health problems. the dr. said it was just a precautionary thing. he had started giving me meds for my heart & wanted me to lose some weight & i had. i don't gg i'm totally mixed-up now. why those boys of mine waited till tonight to tell me is beyound me. told them what i was going to do to them if they pulled this again. it wasn't pretty. lol

That is no problem at all. I don't think you are a loonie. I hope you will be fine without getting the test done. I sure hope you have good health from here on out. I hope the prayers will work also.

Hey, that's ok. I say, a woman must trust her instincts. If your kids have doubts about you going through it tomorrow then postpone it. That's your life honey, you know what's best for you under His guidance. I'm still offering a prayer for you until you go through that heart cath and until you're fully recovered. God bless you!

There's really no need to apologize, because you were sincere in needing prayers before this late decision was taken. Don't for a moment think that you had misled anyone. While you have decided, with advice from your loved ones, not to proceed with the heart procedure, it is a decision taken with the best intentions that no one here should question. I'm sure anyone in your position and circumstances wouldn't go through something they don't feel comfortable with. What we should do now is to pray instead for your health and general well-being, and that you will get the proper care for any medical condition you are faced with.

Wow, thank you so much for your vote. I am indeed very touched. I didn't pray for you the first time because I had not seen that discussion, but I've just prayed for you, that whatever you're faced with (health-wise), God will comfort and assure you, and He will make available to you to best advice and medical treatment to heal and restore you.

I wasn't able to read your first post but reading this now, I am worried because you did not go where you're supposed to. I'm sure that heart cath will help you because it is one of the basic medical procedure right? I hope your boys changed their minds and be optimistic on your sickness. Anyway, I will say my prayers for your immediate recovery.

of course you have the chance to back out specially with this procedure which is very complicated and sensitive. your sons i think and i believe is very grateful with your decisions which turned out to be in their favor. well, maybe they still didn't adjust to the fact that you have to have the heart cath for a reason that is very valid and serious. just give them time to think things over and maybe later on you will be able to convince them if you really wanted to have it. what did the doctors tell you? im sure they have done various preparations and studied your case before performing the OR.

Everyone has the right to change their mind. I hope and pray that everything turns out for you health-wise. Life is full of decisions and nothing is ever set in stone. If you start to feel poorly, you can change your mind just as quickly. Our prayers are not voided just because the situation is different.
