I was reading in the paper today that a 28 yrs old woman was pulled over. She was doing 45 in a 25. When the officer had pulled her over, she told the officer that she was raped and that she was on her way to the hospital. The officer still gave her a ticket without asking her if she needed medical attention. Her face was swollen and she had blood all over her. This makes me wonder if we really are safe. stated that when she got the ticket the officer said that, "the good news is you have to go to court" and to tell her story there, Maybe they will believe you. Where are the officers coming from anymore? Are we just paying anyone to be a police officer anymore? This scares me to move to the city where i grew up at. I live out in the country now. Where i know i am safe and i even feel safe. So if you think the same way let me know. Thank you for reading.

It is insane that the one person that we are taught to go to for help was so flippant and uncaring when the situation clearly indicated that his/her help was needed and necessary. How can any woman trust a police officer to help when they read about cops like that. No wonder so many rapes go unreported. Do you know if the cop was fired or even reprimanded for such a serious lapse of his duties and of judgment? And if this poor woman was helped in any way?

wow that is horrible. the sad thing is i think they are sometimes just paying anyone to be a cop. i live in a small town and right now we once again don't have a cop. they can't keep anyone in here because they don't pay enough. so the one they will get will do a half butt job because they aren't getting paid enough to care. I think the officer should get in trouble for not assisting her after claiming she was raped. especially if she had blood on her.

Thats crazy, now I know that if I'm ever in that situation, I'm not stopping till I get to the hospital.

OMG that cop should be so fired! That poor girl I really hope that she is okay and recovers from her injuries.
