Munchausen by Proxy: Educate yourself!

One of the most harmful forms of child abuse! The reason for this discussion would be because I feel people need to learn more about Munchausen by Proxy. Some don't even know what this means && I think everyone should be aware of this. Just imagine if we can spread more awareness on Munchausen by Proxy && how many children that could be helped/saved from this abuse… My hope in this discussion would be to educate everyone on Munchausen by Proxy, so that they know the signs, so if they see something like this or feel someone might have this disorder, maybe, just maybe we can save a child. Munchausen by Proxy is abuse && it's just awful what these mothers/parents/guardians do for attention! I will post some links at the bottom about "Munchausen by Proxy", just in case someone reading this has never heard of it… Munchausen by Proxy involves the exaggeration or fabrication of illnesses or symptoms by a primary caretaker. One of the most harmful forms of child abuse. Basically the mother will keep the child sick. Usually a mother — deliberately makes her own child sick or convinces others that the child is sick. The mother misleads others into thinking that the child has medical problems by lying and reporting fictitious episodes. The problem is, these mothers/caretakers are actually making these poor healthy children sick for no reason at all… just to satisfied their own needs. In some cases the children live all their life sick && lying in bed. Some children have also died from this because the caretaker just went to far. What Happens to the Child? In the most severe instances, parents or caregivers with Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome may go to great lengths to make their children sick. When cameras were placed in some children's hospital rooms, some perpetrators were filmed switching medications, injecting kids with urine to cause an infection, or placing drops of blood in urine specimens. Some perpetrators aggravate an existing problem, such as manipulating a wound so that it doesn't heal. One parent discovered that scrubbing the child's skin with oven cleaner would cause a baffling, long-lasting rash.
