Hi startgroup,
Go to Start --- run --- type "msconfig" --- enter
Select startup tab, which will be located at last top right corner.
remove unwanted applications at startup. even scan disk.(you can run anytime u need it).
then restart. you will realize that your PC perfomance had increased.
happy lotting

I totally agree with you. But one tip also, whenever you install a new software and you think you will not gonna use it that often, you can disable the option to include it in the task pane or start up items. You will see this option when you install the software. Well there are also those programs that will not prompt you with these. Happy mylotting. :D

Hi Raghul,
You please don’t ask about my computer. It is taking much time to start and even if it is ready to work then also taking time to open pages in net. I already lost my patience with this stupid machine and getting many troubles. But now I am happy that I will get a new computer in near future and procedures are already going on and am waiting for my new computer. I do hope it won’t take much time.

Haha..
I can understand your upset with your current slow system. But anyway, you are going to enjoy the new computer. Wait for the few days to loose your tensions. Have a nice time..

I think your computer is quicker than my computer, I have a notebook, it is dell, with the operation system vista, and it is quite slow. It will take me as long as two mitutes or more to turn it on, and the same long time to turn it off, I even cannot bear it.

hey , its depends upon ur p.c condition...sometimes when browser dnt respond proerly it takes more than two minutes to turn on and same when turn off..really very boring when our p.c hang up not taking our commands...so be patient to receive any chance of getting late in turn on and turn off when our time dnt go smooth....be cool n hv a nice time.

The dell computer i'm useing is pretty fast at loading everything up after turning it on. I got an emachine in another room and it takes a little longer but its also cheaper and not meant to be as fast. I use to have a Gateway computer and it loaded up faster than either one of the computers I use now. It also worked a little bit faster on the internet as well. It would malfunction easier over time though and was more fragile to errors and viruses.

I'm not sure of the exact amount of time my computer takes to turn on and shut down, but it is definitely no more than a few seconds. I almost always use Linux on my computer, but I also have Windows on it. Both sides start up and shut down quickly, although I have not had this computer for very long so the Windows side has not been bogged down by lots of installed startup programs or viruses... yet. I have an Asus Eee PC 1000H.
