i've only been in mylot for 3 weeks & in my 1st day got 1 best response. at first i was not familiar with the know-hows of this site. what i only know is to respond to topics that interest me the most or topics where i can share my thought or knowledge. i was happy then to know that i made a good reply. i'm still learning some of the stuff here in mylot as i turn 1 month. also i have noticed a star with certain color & # just beside my username & avatar. of course i was then curious about it & through reading discussions i found out it's meaning.i just got a best response earlier today giving me a red 9. i'm still not familiar with the rankings but i know for sure this is a good stuff. rarely do i post with short messages coz i make sure to express myself.
for me, i don't a specific criterion of choosing the best response. for me as long as the person satisfied my question i give his/her the opportunity to be a best responder. so whether it's long & wordy, short & concise, a friend or not if your answer fits the best then thats you.
how about you?

Mapi, First let me tell this is best discussion i have seen in this interest section for quite a sometime. Usually every one will be asking about earnings. Ok Let come to point. I dont think there is any basis or critiria you can fix for giving best response. And about my style of giving response is quite simple, Who ever clears my doubts or gives a responses which will satisfy me for my discussions will recieve the best response.
Got confused, ok Then, I have one doubt and i will decide to post one discussion about that doubt in MyLot. I will recieve many responses, but i will select one such response which will clear my doubt clearly. Doesnt matter how big that responses or how short. I remember one discussion for which i have given Best response for one response with only 1 line, even there were other responses with lot big parahs. I felt that response was neet and clear, and i decided it a Best Response.
Again people will have thier own ideas and thouhts and way of thinking. So I dont think there should be any Critiria or Basis will be applied for Selecting best response. What you say on this, a comment on my response is really appreciated.
Regards,

you have a point & i totally get it. indeed each human being are unique & is different from each other. we have our own judgement on every question, doubt or problem that come our way. & yes it's true that no matter how long or short your response is, if you have satisfied the answer base on the creator of the discussion then you deserve the BR category. thanks for your input. appreciate it :)

As well,I'm a newbie here in mylot~~I had seen even started the similar topices like yours before~~I think it depends. We may have quite a lot of responses if our discussions are attractive enough and interesting as well`the basis of choosing BR will be considered your personel taste. In fact,a lot of mylotters will give you some very good comments or ideas, which will make you in a difficult position to select BR~`if there're several very good comments,I would like not to post the BR~~lol`~

The way I judge how to award best rewards is going by how informative and interesting the response is, if someone has obviously thought long and hard about my discussion and given an insightful response which is based on their experiences, I feel you can learn even more if someone shares their own personal experiences and can actually relate to the subject in question. I am never disappointed by the responses I receive, trouble is, it makes it even more harder to choose a response to get a best response!

exactly. & also there comes a point when insights keep on coming & another great response was given but you have already chosen one. of course that happens. but yes i totally agree, sharing best practives or experiences are the best since you could pick something from it. thanks for dropping by. :)

I try to select different people for best response awards, even if they deserve to be awarded. I think its only fair to have different people to have equal chance of being awarded at some time or another. I try to go for quality, those users who manage to express their thoughts in clear and simple language.

checking all of our responses the #1 criterion seems to be the quality. and that's same as you & me too of course. i guess it really doesn't matter if the comment os short & brief or lengthy & wordy coz as long as the discussion was touched & was given justification then BR shoud be given. thanks for your insight!

hello friend, i don't always mark the best response in my discussions.maybe i don't have the habit to do this. BUt even this, i also mark some ones in my several discussion.I have my own standard for the mark.Of course, firstly, it is suitable to my question, it is very important.secondly,it should be understandable with no wrong spelling.and the third, the words are ordered and clear.I think that are the requirement for the best response mark in mylot.I think everyone should have these ideas as the basis f choosing the best response.Because it is so basic.lol
good luck

it's good that you have basis of choosing the BR. well i guess we all have our own standards in choosing them. for me, typographical error doesn't matter coz as long as i undertand the words then it's fine. what matters for me is the essence of the answer & aside from that i look into grammar.

My best response is based on if i'm happy with that answer, as well as if it really helps me in understanding more about a particular topic ^_^
If there isn't any that fits my criteria, i will just choose one whom has been commenting back and fro to my discussion, and award them with the best response ^_^

that's a nice idea, giving the benefit of the doubt and/or giving the person a chance to explain further. coz yes at times when a mylotter gives a comment back & forth it only means that he is interested on the topic & is willing to help. thansk for the insight! :)
