How many shots (injection) have you had in your life?

A lot of people are afraid of the needle. I'm not. That's because when I was really young, I got H-Fever (you get that from large mosquitos) and I was hospitalized for 2 weeks. Within that 2 weeks, I was extracted for blood sample every 6 hours. Since then, I've never been afraid of needles. I actually even prefer dextrose over taking meds.
I've had at least 100 shots in my life - I was a sickly child, always getting confined every year or so.

I can't even remember how many shots I've had in my life. My mom is sort of paranoid so she makes us get all these immunizations and booster shots. When I was in high school, I suddenly began to get really itchy, especially in school, so my mom took me to an allergist to get a skin test (which also involved getting pricked by a needle more 30 or more times). We found out that I was allergic to so many types of pollen, and after taking anti-allergy medicine everyday for like 2 years, my mom decided to just get me desensitized. Every week for a few months, I would get a shot on my arm, and then after that every two weeks, and then every three weeks, and so on. I completely lost my fear of needles after that. Before I was so afraid of getting shots that I would bawl at the doctor's office every time. I remember hiding out in school once after my mom signed me up to get immunized at the nurse's office, but it turned out to be just an oral vaccine LOL.

Yes she definitely can get it for her peanut allergy and for any other food allergies, pollen, animal dander. However, you can't get immunized for those allergens that are from synthetic materials like textile dye. As for the cost, I really think it depends on who your doctor is. Our doctor was pretty popular so her rates are higher compared to others. I started my immunizations I think around 2003/2004, and at that time the going rate for skin tests was Php2000 and for immunizations, it's Php300 per session.

I don't know exactly how many I have had in my life oyenkai but it's been a few! In Australia, vaccinations are a common practice and we all had to line up every few years or so to get them and it was even done in Primary School by Doctors that used to visit! We all had to get slips signed for approvals then off we'd go. There were many tears on those days I can tell you! The one injection I HAVE had a number of times is the one for tetanus. I was pretty accident prone so every time I cut my foot on a piceof metal or stood on a rusty nail I was taken off to the Doctor for a tetanus shot. These ones are quite painful from memory too.

I've had those for tetanus as well. I wasn't the most careful child and I think it came to a point that having to look after me became a little annoying :D Good thing I was a cute kid! I was able to get off being told off easily because when I DO get hurt, I cry and all hell breaks loose haha
Thank you for sharing! Oh and we also do have vaccinations here, but it's expensive and it's not always that the government does it for free :P Lucky you!

That's a whole lot of shots! I don't mind the pain of the needle or getting an injection. But what I do hate is when I actually watch the needle going into my skin and the person pushing the medicine into me or extracting blood from me. After seeing that, I feel really dizzy and my stomach feels really bad. There was a time when I had Dengue. I was confined for 2 weeks and like you, I also had my blood extracted every 6 hours. They'd wake me up in the middle of the night just to get some blood. I don't think I've reached 100 shots yet but I think I've had around 50 or more shots in my life.
