Well, I'm not much skilled in the fine art of economics, but, as far as I can tell, a strong currency is the image of a strong, reliable economy.
And, for the Gulf Arab Nations, the stability is brought to their economy by the huge export of oil, and the still very large oil reserves waiting to be drilled out.

Arab countries have the worlds most important and expensive resource-oil.Almost half of the worlds oil is produced in arab countries.If they stopped producing petroleum products the world would come to a halt.This is the main reason why thier currencies have high value.

that would be because of the HUMOUNGOUS amount of petrol and oil that we have
plus the places that attract tourists from all around the world are basicly in the gulf area
here in egypt we have 1/3 of the world's treasures !
as for kuwait, it has the largest petrol and oil supply after iraq and saudia
not sure which comes first or last but these are the 3 greatest countries for oil and petrol
