In Maslows hierarchy of needs, human needs to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance whether it comes from a large social groups such as clubs, office culture, religious groups, professional organization, sports team, gangs or small social connections. In the absence of these elements many people become susceptible to loneliness, social anxiety and clinical depression. If this is so, what are you standards in choosing a company of friends you would like to join.

I consider myself gregarious and I can jive with people of different personalities.
But I would normally choose a friend who is down-to-earth,humble,positive-minded
and who influences me to thread on the right path. Lastly, a friend should accept the
lovable & unlovable side of me.

i choose people who i'm comfortable with. i guess in friendship, it is important that you are being yourself and your not pretending to be someone else in front of your friends.

I like the company of intelligent people. I like the company of people who are ever smiling faces. I try to join the friend's group if they are not very seriously discussing any thing at the party. This is because I feel that discussing serious thing is a job to be done in the offices and not during the parties.
I fully agree that we must have good number of good friends without this element our life becomes dull and we start feeling lonely. However, I do give equal importnce to the selection of the friends.

Good question. I usually don't have a hard time choosing which friends I go with. But it takes time. I can easily get along with almost anyone. I can adjust to other people's attitudes pretty well. I just accompany anyone and I'll just be as simple and honest as I can being true to myself. I'd always like to be in the company of true people. It's kinda hard to see who is but as time passes by, I have an instinct of knowing whom I'll join with longer. I just go along the flow most of the time. See 'ya!

I choose friends that im comfortable with , to talk to and to have fun. They say that birds of the same feather flock together, this literally means that you jive your personality to someone that is like your personality. I like people who have goals in their life and people who value success. I choose friends who embraces their dreams in life.
