Folks, I am gonna be honest with you here about your prospects of making a dependable, decent income from the web. You aren't. Sure, you hear the stories of the folks who make thousands every day on the web. But, 1) they are a tiny minority of those looking to make money online and 2) they are mostly making their money selling their "secret" of how they make money on the web to suckers who are desperate to get rich today without effort. There is no magic way to make a ton of money on the web. It takes time, effort and really good salemanship. An original product that the whole world wants, helps too.
PTCs are good for only pennies. There are dependable ones out there, but they don't have high payouts or you need a lot of referrals to make it.
Don't even touch HYIPS. They are unsustainable and depend on new money coming in to pay the original investors.
MLM is not much better. You have to be able to recruit and sell to do it. Plus, there are upfront costs that you might never see again.
Affiliate programs can work. But, again, you have to market, market, market. That means being a really good sales person.
Blogging for dollars only works if you have a really interesting blog. Hint -- "how to make money on the web" is not one. There are millions of blogs out there. Only a handful become really popular.
I'm still here. But, I am not counting on steady income, or thousands of dollars. You can make some extra here and there to put away or spend on fun stuff ocassionally. But, the web will never be a place to replace your day job, pay off your bills with no other effort, or anything like that. Be realistic about your expecations on the web and you will be fine. Think you have discovered the goose that laid the golden eggs and you will be disappointed. Have fun but don't depend on it.

hhmmm... most I think realise that. That's why we are always here trying to add some more venues to add a little something to our online ventures. Online income is a hit or miss thing. Most don't hit but certainly there are others who have a bit of success. That's why we just don't stop, trying to hit that proverbial pot of gold.
Besides you could also try to improve your income as you stabilize yourself with good paying sites. Sure they may not last long but certainy there are others that could replace theme. That's how just the cycle is... just a tip. Goodday and happy mylotting!!!

I was always raised with the thought if it sounds to good to be true it is most likely just that. If it really worked noone would be leaving the house to work.
It was nice of ya to do this thou and warn people, that are looking for what they would think is a fast and easy way out of debt. I feel lucky when I can make 25 bucks from a survey place or a place as interesting as here at mylot and making a little extra.

You got it. Most of the online moneymaking schemes are too good to be true. If it were THAT easy to get out of debt, no one would be IN debt. It's easy to get into debt, it's hard work to get out. You gotta change your thinking to do it, not just look around for a fast buck.

I agree there is no way to make money by just sitting around. But I do believe there are ways of making real money online. There are numerous sites that will sell your photography, there are auction sites, you can even set up your own online store. These are true money making opportunities but yes they do require work. You will never get rich just doing nothing, whether it be online or otherwise.

Sure, there are legitimate ways out there. Like you said, auction sites or online stores. But, if you don't get traffic, you won't sell anything. Too many people think they can get rich by doing, if not nothng, then very little. Like everything else, earning online takes a lot of effort.

I have been involved in nearly everything you speak about, you are right about HYIP's they need to be avoided. Well if you do put money in them you need to be willing to lose it, which who frankly is?
I run a website and it is not easy work to drive traffic, but I learn new things daily and know that I will make it eventually. This is not something you can jump into and think you will be making loads of money off, it is truly hard work.
I am steadily building my online revenue streams, but I am far from making my living online.

Steady building is the only way to do it. Make money slow, not quick, is the only tried and true method for most people. Getting traffic to a site is always a problem. I am still trying to get traffic to my blog that I have had for over 2 years.

When I was new, I was excited too. Wow, I could not worry about being unemployed. Just a few hours at my computer a day and I would be rich. Welp, 4 years later, and those few hours (which became more hours than I spent at my job) never did produce more than pennies.
