I think it depends on your usage style. If you are into computer games for example, I would recommend a desktop pc for sure because they are the most suitable ones with the latest games and they will probably have a larger and a better quality monitor which will give you the best feeling of playing a game.
If you are more into office stuff and would like to do your work anytime, anywhere, of course you would need a laptop pc. However, laptop pcs are not very stable in my opinion (at least not as stable as desktop pcs) and their performance is slightly lower than desktop pcs. In the other hand, the costs of laptop computers are really high when compared to a desktop PC.
For being a gamer, I would prefer buying a latest technology desktop PC as it would give the best performance

Other people's opinion counts but it does not necessarily means you have to follow. If you would not bring the laptop outside, do not ever think of buying one. Desktop are far more stable and easy to maintain and repair in my own opinion.

depend on how you going to use the device.if laptop it is more mobile, you can carry anywhere, and the features and specifications also quite okay and satisfied, but just the price is quite expensive, although now days laptop price is reasonable compare to last time ( i bought mine for $1000 ).but if you just spend your time more at your table, then get desktop, cheaper than laptop, but with more better specifications, just taking more space on your table, but that can be arrange.

It all depends on the usage if you want to use for longer period i can say you should go for Pc if not then go for Laptops, if you want to take it outside then with no choice you should opt for Laptops, so decide between these , and dont see the rates if you wish to buy a Laptops, get a costly one more than 35,ooo rupees so that it will last for longer time..

Well I think if you prefer the mobile type of computer so that you could bring your works any where you should go for a laptop. But if you are a gamer type and really in for a large data bank you should go for a desktop. Why? Well the desktop computer(s) is more prefer for data banking or database type computers. They are more safe if there being kept in a safe casing so that the memory storage cannot be harmed by any physical damages. On the other hand, laptops is very handy because of it's mobility but you can't really on them in data banking. So there you have it those are the traits that you must consider in buying a COMPUTER.

You are right about that they're not that so different from a desktop Hard disk right? Well there is also another option for a large data bank. If you want to you could just buy a Laptop then buy another HDD and a External Enclosure. So that you don't have to worry on changing the HDD of the laptop when you bought it. Just make sure that the hard disk that you are going to buy is 1 Tera bytes. 1 Tera bytes is preferable size I think.

I have a laptop and a desktop. I used the desktop everyday, and the laptop if I am away. The laptop seems to be get very warm and I don't think it is as robust as my desktop. I have had two laptops now, the older one just stopped working about a year ago, but I've had the same desktop for about 5 years, that seems to have outlived my old laptop even though I used the desktop more.

I can only answer from my own experience. If I had a choice of one or other, it would have to be a desktop. I've had 4 desktops altogether and I have opened my desktop several times to put in extra memory etc. and it was very easy to do. A laptop tends not to be so easy because everything in it is so small.
A laptop is easy to move around and that is what is in its favour. At the end of the day it is a matter of personal choice. I choose a desktop because as I said before, I think they are more robust and will last longer. :-)

I think a desktop maybe more powerful and capable of gaming, but if you want the freedom of mobility go for the laptop. I love my laptop, because it goes everywhere I go. I don't remember the last time I was without my computer. It goes on my vacations, and sometimes my computer comes to bed with me.

Well I can sense that what you need is a tough PC and laptop may not just be able to cope if you have many users of that machine. If your not mobile then maybe a destop would be appropriate with you. Sometimes laptop can be sensitive with different kinds of users and would easily breakdown as against desktop since the PC is located at one area and usually movement is not as frequent as the laptop.
the only advantage of Laptop is its being mobile all the time. You can carry is anywhere you want to do it.

In the past I preferred to have a desktop, now I have changed. If I will buy a new computer again, it will be a laptop. Especially when you have a wireless router at home, it is much more convenient to have a laptop. You can use it anywhere at home. If you have a travel, you can even keep it with you.
I love China

If that laptop will be use what you have mentioned, I would suggest for you to buy a desktop. Desktop is way more better than laptop because laptop is sensitive compare to desktop. You also have to consider how big the RAM. Sometimes, games makes the computer slow too. Whether it is online or downloadable games. I am just hoping that you will have your new pc soon

If you are using it for business..you definitely need a laptap.
Its nice having a desk top "being there" but for trips ect
the convience of a laptop is unmatchable. There are many places
now that offer free WIFI so hooking up to the internet is extremely
easy.

If you need Portability then you should purchase a Laptop otherwise you should purchase a Desktop, as its cheaper than Laptop and its accessories are cheaper than Laptop too.

Hello,
I think u should buy a Laptop.
Configuration of Laptop should be
Processor: Dual core/Core 2 Duo
Ram: 1gb is enough but 2gb will be good for gaming & can giv u a smooth performance at VISTA platform.

Since you have no restriction on your budget, I think you should go for a branded and High end PC, which could be used by everyone in your family and will be useful for every application like from microsoft word to high end graphic heavy games.
Thanks!

A processor that is going to be a family one then you should go for a desktop with better performance and higher run time speed..Laptops are good for personal use and it may cause lot of problem if so many people use it..

i vote for a desktop PC if it is going to be in ur house coz the features in which we find in desktop PC cant be found in a laptop, more than that u can experience the feel in games thru desktop but not from a laptop,so go and buy a desktop pc
