And with it all the expenses for a one time dress up party for kids!! Do you have any ideas how to buy Halloween costumes at a low price. Is there a place where I can sell them back after the one day use? Any ideas please.. what do you do to save money on a one time costume?

You can just be creative and make costumes from what you have at home. What about having the kids be a hobo or dressing up in a nightgown and curlers.
I don't know of anywhere you can buy a costume and return it the next day. You can always try to sell it on ebay the next year.
You can also try a thrift store...there are usually lots of funky things you can find there.
This year my daughter is going to be a slice of pizza. We took a cardboard box, cut out a huge piece of pizza, painted on the sauce, grated paper for cheese and put it on the wet paint for the sauce so it would stick. We now are going to make pepperoni and mushrooms out of construction paper and figure out how to attach it to her.
Last year she was a tree made from a cardboard box and one other year my son was a table. It is easy to make costumes for very little money and they are very unique.

You can go to the dollar store and pick up a crown and some princess stuff for cheap. Then go to the second hand store and look for a frilly dress. I bet you can do this outfit for a good price. Then she can use it for playing dressup later on.

I went out today and bought my kids costumes. I spent $35 on both of them. I promised my son that he could be Indiana Jones and when I found the costume it was $49. I found one at Walmart that was only $19 so I bought it. Then I found a cheap pixie costume for my daughter. I just wanted to get it taken care of. I think I could have waited and got a better deal if I waited and looked harder. i kinda wish I would have. I came home and went over our monthy budget and we need all the extra money we can get. I can now only spend $60 for the rest of the month on food and spending. I know I can do it but I dont want to.

Halloween or All Hallow's Eve needn't be expensive. Rather than buy a costume, make one at home. There are lots of sites to help you out, even if you are the least creative. One lady I know put clear plastic bags around the kids torso (shoulders to waist, not around the head or legs), then filled the bags with blown up balloons. The kids were bags of jelly beans.
As for candy to hand out, coupons are in the paper. Use them to buy when the stuff is on sale. Then you are set.
You can have a fun, cheap Halloween if you just get a tad creative.
