According to the polls Obama will receive 19% (Gallup) of all republicans votes.
One do you believe it and two if not, why are the polls being presented this way?

Isn't Gallup a reputable organization? There are an awful lot of polls going on right now and there is a commonality among all of them in favor of Obama.

Gallup should be a reputable organization. I just have a very hard time believing 19% of republicans are going to vote for Obama. I am an independent btw.
During the last election Gallup, and others had Kerry winning the Hispanic vote comfortably. End result? Hispanics went for Bush.
Also there is the polling during the primaries. Obama never did as well at the voting booth as he did in the polls. How many times did we here it was over for Hillary only to have her come back and win the state?
There is something very suspect about the polls this year.

I don't think they're suspect, I think the mood of the people is very fluid this time around and opinions change...and change again. Elections have got to be hard to call since no one is really obligated to vote the same way they responded to a poll.

True no one is comfined by a poll answer they give, however, people do watch polls. If one candidate is so far ahead a certain percentage simply will not vote.
The mistakes in polling during the primaries have always favored Obama. Never once favored Clinton. Odd, don't you think?

The wonderful about polls is the numbers can be played with. Either side can use things to their advantage. Plus how do they really know. have they called EVERY republican to find out? Of course not. they are guessing. It gets people talking and that is what they want.
Heck from what I hear a lot of hilary's supporters are so mad about her not getting the nomination that they are now going to vote for McCain. Do you really believe that? Sure a few may. But not enough to really change anything. But the press made a huge deal making it look bigger than it really was.
This election is a big event and it has dragged on for so long that the press is trying anything they can to keep peopel watching and their ratings up.
Who knows how people will vote. I do know a lot of people are mad at Bush and are going to take it out on McCain. I does not matter what republican was running, that person was going to get labeled "just like Bush". It was the best weapon the democrats had. Personally as a conservative I have to laugh at that. I do not think McCain is conservative at all. He is a RINO (republican in name only). Who ever wins, we still have a democrat in office.

I have been following the PUMA movement for quite awhile and yes a lot of democrats are going to go republican this year because of Hillary. A lot go republican every year anyway.
It seems the "mistakes" in polling always seem to favor Obama.
I am not a great believer in coincidences.

The press is very biased. They are going to always give Obama the good press. Heck we have had two debates in the general now and did you see one third party candidate there? Nope. They got shut out. They are not allowed at the debates this time and the press is freezing them out. The media has an agenda and it is not fair and balanced reporting.

Sounds a bit biased. I'm sure there are democrats who are voting for McCain. Myself, for one.
