The Beauty of a Digital Camera

I've been working on a craft for our granddaughter who is due to arrive in about 4 weeks. Am making an Elmo bank from plastic canvas and it will wrap around a plastic coffee can. Put a slit in the lid and it was ready to go except I didn't know what color she wanted on the background of the project. The baby's room is tan but I had 3 different colors of tan and beige. She lives about 20 minutes from us and I was too lazy to drive out there with the yarn. I snapped a photo with my digital and emailed to her. She just happened to be online and answered me immediately. Talk about saving time. Have you had the chance to use your digital in this manner and get quick results whether it was a craft project or something else?

Technology huh! I have done that also and it does save you time and a trip somewhere. I also have done this in the supermarket with my cell phone camera when I am not sure which product to buy.

Good idea with the cell too. The camera on my cell is always full. Reminded me I need to delete some old pics. Thanks for responding.

I took out 3 different colors and was stumped. This has worked well for me in the past so decided to do it again. I had an answer in minutes. Thanks for responding.

Really good thinking. I do have one, but both my sons have their hands on it all the while that I've never learnt how to use it. I will though in due time.

I don't have a digital camera. My husband bought me one a couple of years ago, but I needed other things at the time so we took it back. I will get me another one pretty soon. I don't take a whoile lot of pictures but it would be nice to have.

They come in handy for all kinds of uses. Today was a good reason to have one. Thanks for responding.

In this respect compact cameras are a genius. It isn't necessary to move right away in order to show something. Moreover they are MMSs remarkable - how you will take a photo with mobile phone, it isn't necessary to take the husband around to the shop in order together to choose something ;)

Hi carolbee, I'm so glad you are getting with your craft work for the baby, it must be great to do something like that, I haven't got a digtial camara yet, meaning to buy one so I can download photos on Mylot and don't know how to use it, so theres is lot of learning to do. All the best in everything you do. Love & Hugs. Tamara

I've been working on two projects for the baby but neither are finished just yet. I should know better than to tackle 2 at once..lol Digital cameras are just great. Use mine so much. Thanks for responding.

That is good that you did that, not sure if I would have even thought to do that. hahaha My luck my daughter would not have been online at the time and there is no way I could have run to her house since she lives 300 miles away. I don't think that I have taken a digital picture to send to anyone for info but I will have to keep that in mind.

I've done this before when making her a project and it sure saves time. A 300 mile trip to find out a yarn color is a good excuse to visit..lol Thanks for responding.

I can't wait until I have money for something besides bills. A digital camera with the ability to take pictures of flower, crafts, changing colors of trees, my cat, everything! I will be reading the other posts and I hope you take a picture of the Elmo bank, it sounds like it will be very, very cute. Take care

It's a long story but I didn't buy my digital. It was a gift from one of the local casinos a few years ago. It's been extremely helpful with anything I do at home. I will take a photo and post it here when the Elmo bank is finished. Just hope I measured right and it fits the plastic can. Think I did! Thanks for responding.
