When my computer fails to run, first thing i will do is analysing the problem. If it is a software related problems, i can correct it. If it is a hardware problem, i will try to look for a feasible solution. If nothing works, then only i will contact the service person.
some times if the problem occurs and if it is a minor one, i can correct it myself. If it is a complicated one, then i will goto the service personnal.

well, I'll call for the expert.. And guess what? That's me..! LOL.. haha.. I'm a computer technician, so if there's a problem with my computer, I'm the one who will fix it.. Hehe.. I'm good at hardware.. Specially at system unit.. And also at software.. But I'm not a programmer.. LOL.. When it comes to monitor, I can cure some of its problem.. but if I cannot.. I'll definitely bring it to the repair shop, to have it repaired.. LOL.. hehe.. ^_^

When my computer dosent run, i will look to analyze the problem. why it is not booting. Whether it is hardware problem or software problem? Then if it is a hardware problem ii will check for a solution or replace the hardware. If it is a software problem, enter into dos mode and i will clear the problem.
Usually i dont call any experts to home to repair. I think i have a small knowledge on computers. It enough to manage my computer i think.

Hi friend..
if my computer didnt power on.. i would not not call an expert immediately. first of all, i will try to solve the problem by myself. very rarely, i called service engineers to my home, that too when i was in first level.
nowadays, usually i format the system incase needed. as i own a internet cafe, system problems come simultaneously. for continous of 5 months, i faced much problems like Virus attack, spyware attack, RAM, problem in startup, didnt power on, internet disconnect, low internet connectivity, etc., as i faced these types of troubles, i also learned how to avoid as well. now i know to prevent a system from virus , spyware attack or internet related.
if i face hardware problem, then, i open the cpu, unplug the RAM, Hard disk and again i will fit it on particular places. 90% this works me fine. if the problem still continues, i will disconnect the hard disk & connect to another computer and reinstall it. again i will place that hard disk in old computer. (This too worked me, on virus attacked hard disk)
if the above said options anything failed me to work, then i definitely call a service engineer.
What i am expecting from myself is, a try... y cant we..
Take care friend..
see you in another discussion..

first try to determine whats the problem is, and then try to debug it. However if it is harware failure, i will take it to the shop for repair. Only if the OS is going wrong i will repair it by myself

could be many reason..if the computer doesn't run & u hear a tone..then somethin' must have shaked the RAM chips in ur pc..if with no sound the computer do absolutely nothing..it might be a power supply issue ..changing power supply is a must if the problem was related to it..checking on power cables might solve this problem too..other hardware devices problems can cause such failure too .

My advice is to unhook the hard drive and take it to a professional. There are too many things that could be wrong - it could be as simple as it overheating, the fan not working, etc. or it could be the motherboard or it could be seriously infected with viruses. etc. Unless you are super adept at fixing computers, it really is a job for a pro. The last and most extreme option is to throw it away and get a new one - you can just get a new hard drive, which will force you to make sure all of your other devices are compatible or just buy a whole new bundle from a reputable retail center.
