Have you tried applying for a job online? I think this is the new trend nowadays and I guess makes modern jobseekers a lot luckier than jobseekers ten or fifteen years ago when everything from submitting resumes to making follow ups is done manually. Now you can apply for a certain job opening and be hired at the comfort of your own home. Thanks to the latest technology! I have discovered a new site where Filipinos can search and apply to local job openings. The only requirement is a valid email address. I think it is cool and very convenient way to search for a job, not to mention the cheaper way also. The site is http://www.JobOpenings.ph

Yes I used to submit my resume online... I just graduated this year and what I did after graduation is to register at jobsdb.com and jobstreet.com. Internet has become a very useful tool in finding a job. Gone are days when job seekers would have to wait over a long line of people with their resumes at hand... most of the Companies and HR personnel appreciate website application which would direct to their database, and perhaps would do the application sorting easier to handle for them. I use to browse corporate websites and send my resume via e-mail... it's less expensive if I may say.. than doing a walk-in from companys' main offices... I've processed almost all my applications online and luckily... I've hit the perfect job, just as what I am looking for. ( ^ - ^ )

I have done this many times, and I love just filling out the app, and if you get a call thats great, if you don't well you have not wasted a lot of time.

I have applied for quite a lot of different jobs on the internet. I even got accepted for the last job I applied for online, but it was only for a short term job. It is a great time saver and enables you to find out more information about the company you are applying for.

At present, I'm with my third job as a financial analyst in a local bank for nearly four years now and I was hired through applying online. Personally, I am really thankful with yahoo and jobstreet.com where I posted my resume. I agree with you when you said that seeking for a job is a lot easier nowadays with the help of the computer and websites but at the same time, it's more difficult in a way; because competition is tougher and your rivals for a job position have greatly increased. But this isn't the case with other less fortunate people who don't have the means to apply online; specially those who do not own a computer at home. They have to pay a computer rental fee in order to post their resumes and search or apply for jobs online. Aside from this, they have to pay another rental fee in order to check if they have been notified by employers in their email addresses. Anyway, eventhough I currently have a job, I still am on the lookout for direct employment overseas. I have observed that despite the fact that my spouse and I do have separate jobs, we still find it hard to make ends meet. So, we both decided that one of us has to work abroad and try our luck overseas; with the future education of our only child in mind.

I am going to start shortly, so fingers crossed! I have sent many applications by email having completed them online, but Ionly in response to newspaper adverts. I understand that there are many on line agencies I can register with so I will try. Fingers crossed!
