Do you hate it when people blast music in their cars, while driving?

Sometimes, one of the teens will roll through our neighborhood with his music up so loud, it shakes the windows. What's the purpose of that? It doesn't bother me so much if someone is playing their radio too loud while driving, unless I'm in the same car. Things get even worse, if they're playing music that I hate! Do you hate it when other people blast their music while you're in the car with them? What do you think about other people that drive around with their music up way too loud?

i have a problem is they're doing it between 10pm-7am other then that i'm okay with it since its just passing by. i can't say much though because my husband installs those loud stereos systems the teens use now days that they use to blast their music so i'm used to hearing it when i go to visit him at work. i remember when i used to be in cars what were like that. i interned at a radio station so everyone was all keen about their car sound systems. i mean, i don't mind it loud, its the bass that was killing me. too high and my whole body is shaking. i had a hard time breathing and it was only a 2min car ride.

I hate music blasting in the car.I love music and i like to listen to it while i am in a car but not blasting-just at a nice level-I live near a school and the young ones go by everyday with the music blasting in the car-makes no sense to me-also they should be concentrating on the driving not the music

It doesn't bother me unless I'm in the car with them. I like my music loud but sometimes there is a difference between loud and too loud, at least for me. If they want to blast music in their own car while driving then so be it. I however am not too interested in doing that myself. My music may be loud but at least I can tell what is going on around me.

Yeah I do hate it! Especially when they drive by my house and my windows shake and vibrate and I'm wondering " How can they enjoy listening to there music like that when you can hear nothing but Boom Boom Boom!" Sometimes it scares my little boy when car's roll by our house with the bass up full blast. I'm glad it doesn't happen too often but when it does I often wonder if my windows will shatter or break because of that loud annoying sound.

They used to do that when my daughter was sleeping at night. That just made me mad! We started calling the cops a lot. They don't do it so much anymore.

I must admit as a young girl I used to always blast my music out but these days I just look at the people that do it and think that they are showing of becuase lets face it most of them are going around pimping there cars and it's like a big competition these days. I put it down to people wanting to look cool and even trying to catch the eye of people but at the end of the day it is all meanining less and stupid but I suppose we are all young once and we all do stupid things I bet they will look back and regret it in years to come

I hate it when other people do it, but I usually have my volume up pretty loud to, so I really try not to complain much. :~D

If my mom scolded me because she could hear my car radio it really would be way too loud... She lives 1800 miles away. :~D

btw, I just heard on the radio that starting with next years' models, Ford Motors will be offering a feature that will limit the speed teenage drivers can go, and among other things, prevent the radio from being cranked up too loud.

My mum would scold me if I turn my volume up too loud.

Actually it does not bother me, quite the opposite, it always makes me wish that I could drive so that I could have music on loud too! Oh I would have the best sound system ever in my car, I love loud music. I get to have it on a little bit loud when in the car with hubby, but he always seems to want to talk through the best loud song and then puts his rubbish on loud instead! I need to learn to drive really!

Only when I am trying to concentrate, it will become a problem.. Other than that, I don't really care. But, they should be very careful, because there are police officers that will give them a ticket for this..

i hate it when they play music so loud in the car especially when i am also inside that car. it's dangerous 'coz they might not be able to hear their surroundings well. and it's also distracting to other vehicles. it's ok to play music, just not so loud that it will put your driving and all the others at risk.

Inconsiderate people that drive with around with their radios blaring should be arrested for disturbing the peace. It occurs on a daily basis where I live and it drives me nuts. I'm generally a very calm person but this makes me almost snap! When my windows start rattling and my house vibrates I just want to scream. It annoys me terribly. And it's one thing if their stereo sounds good, but most of them have blown speakers and between that and the bass thumping, it's totally ridiculous. And mama's wonder why their babies can't hear. Well, duh.

Wouldn't say I was too worried although it does depend on the music being played if it's a well known rock song I don't mind but if it's a rap song turned up full pelt the base does often feel like it could shatter a few windows. Being a bit of a girl racer I must admit I do like to appreciate my rock music in my car fairly loud...not to the point of distortion though otherwise there's just no pleasure in it for anyone. And whenever i've got company in my car I always turn the volume down so only a whisper can be heard. I appreciate we all have different tastes and I know most of my friends hate the stuff I listen to...I just hope they return the favour when they get their cars.

I guess Im crazy but I love it when people are blasting their music. Especially when I don't like the music. I just find it hilarious that someone would crank up silly music to an unreasonable decibel. I love to catch their attention and then pretend to groove to their music, weather it be headbanging or the chicken dance... its always fun. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting

It tells me the driver didn't get enough attention when they were little. It also tells me they are rude and have no consideration for other people and our nick knacks. They rattle on my shelves, some days, when they drive by. I'm talking mostly about when they blast that base. I have to think they don't really care about their hearing either. It was getting really, really bad here until a couple of years ago they passed a law against it. Now I don't hear them very much at all, thank you God!

These just get on my nerves!! I don't what do they get by playing such loud music while driving .. I mean okay want to have a party stop our car and now get the music loud and enjoy... (obviously not in residence area) But please DO NOT do it while driving.. not only us its dangerous to the drivers also!! They lose there concentration.. they dance while driving one of the most common reasons for accidents on freeways.. And they can not hear any other car beside them, not even their horn!! And not only teens I have also seen some guys about 26 or 30 yrs old are also into this business... Why are people so mean?? Why can't they think about others who want some silence??

i'm not thrilled about it,but if it's during the daytime i ignore it. it's the ones that roll through at 3 am and wake my mom up that piss me off. there's no reason to do it that early except to be annoying.

I do not hate them, but do not like them either. It's a complicated situation, but I still do not like to go and complain against such people. I live inside of a colony, so we do not have cars coming in, but when I'm on the road, I usually have my earphones on so I do not hear such music very often. But when I do, I try to enjoy because the people who blast away with loud music have some pretty cool equipment that produce some high quality output. So I enjoy them too... bourne

Can you hear the sirens of emergency vehicles heading your way?
• India
8 Oct 08
Yeah. The thing is, I keep the volumes high enough to cancel out the normal sound of the engines, but low enough to hear honks and other sounds like the one you mentioned. Safety is important, but the number of vehicles on the roads has increased by such a number that the sounds of the engines is very irritating. So the volume is well adjusted before I start moving. So I don;t have top meddle with the music player once I have started. I have observed that most people who have loud music on have their windows open, so there's no chance that they will miss out on the sound of such emergency vehicles. Considering India, there are very few emergency vehicles running around. I seldom see a fire engine, and we do not have 911 services so seeing a police van with its lights on is also a rarity. Although the ambulance service provided is the best and as there are a lot of hospitals, people are usually very fast with this. bourne

Well... yes, if its music that I dont like or if its so loud that I cant hear myself, I mean, what's the purpose of it? Maybe they want to show how powerful their equipment is... Just tune it down! Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp

I hate it quite a bit. Someone had their music balsting in their car near my campus earlier today. My little sister likes to play her music quite loud while she drives. I try to turn it down so she can actually pay attention to her driving, but she always turns it back up.
