Tocino is a native cured meat product. It is usually made out of pork and is similar to ham and bacon although beef is alsi used. It is often reddish in color and had a sweetist taste.
Tocino is usually fried in oil or boiled in water, depending on how moist is desired. Actually, the original tocio is marinated only in salt, sugar and saltpeter, although pineapple juice may be added for a slightly tart flavor.
Tocino is often eaten with rice and fried egg.
Longganisa are popular Pinoy breakfast, there are various versions that defends on regional location. Vign and Lucban longganisa are garlicky, sourly and salty. Pampanga version are sweet. Some are made with beef and chicken instead of pork.
Longganisa has the combination of pork, spices, vinegar, tons of garlic and intestinal casing reacts.
Longgansa is also often served withrice and fried egg.
Between the two I like tocino more than longganisa.
Tocino is always sweet unlike longganisa it is sometime sour.
I also like longganisa but only the sweet version, I don't like the sour longganisa.
Which ohe two you like the most?
Do you like the sour version of longganisa?
Thank you for sharing..

Love TOCINO! also that's my son's favorite viand..it really taste good! im starving now...lol
anyway, i remember one of my boyfriends experience on that longganisa which we even bought at a supermarket...he got something from the longganisa which is a human finger nail...yucks! so i refuse eating longganisa because of that...i assume that people doing such products like that don't have proper hygiene doing it...nor it isn't clean!
