Iranian teenagers Mahmoud Asgari (16) and Ayaz Marhoni (18) were hanged in Edalat Square in Mashhad, Iran on July 19, 2005.
They were hanged because they allegedly raped a 13-year old boy.
The execution violated the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the International Convent on Civil and Political Rights (Iran is signatory to both) which prohibit the execution of minors.
Under the Iranian law, males are considered adults at the age of 15.
Did the two boys deserve this kind of punishment?

It is very difficult to say if they really desreved the public execution. However, one thing I feel is that any person who is guilty should get punishment. But at the same time the punishment should not be so harsh and it should not be in public place. Fortunately in my country the low does not provide for such public execution. It is totally against the human right and atleast in India people would not welcome it.
However, if Iranian laws allow it and if their people feel that it is fair then we should not have any objection against it.

if they allegedly did it, and not for sure. no. but if they knew for a fact they did it, yes. i think if there is no doubt if someone committed a crime like that, and even killing someone, then they need to be hung.
but only if there isn't any doubt.
