Laying all speculations to rest, Saurav Ganguly has announced that this would be his last series and he would be retiring after this series. So the rumors arising during his selection seem to be justified. What are your reactions to the news? Cheers! Ram

Its the right time to quit. He contributed much to the Indian cricket. World cup final and Natwest series are the best thing he achieve as a captain. As a batsmen he always shined well. But this is the right decision made my him at a tough time.

Yes, I agree with you. I also think that he is probably the one Indian cricketer who has made it clear at the start of a series that he is retiring rather than being forced out... Cheers! Ram

I think these senior playersn are given the last opportunity before their retirement so that they can retire with dignity. This is the News I gathered from a Local TV channel. It is some thing like promoting a professor as Dean of a college for one day to make him retire next day so that he will retire as a Dean of the College! How funny !

Hi ram, First of all Hats off to this man. He is a wonderful cricketer and a tremendous fighter. I will remember him as a player who gave his everything to win with dignity. And yes i think its the correct time for him. It was the durga ashtami day and as we know he is very superstitious .. so he must have consulted with someone. I also heard that he got kidnap threats of his daughter. May be that was too much for him and he decided to retire. I wish him good luck whatever he does in life. Cheers, Tutul

Hello,Ram! Every beginning has its end.Sourav when began his career as a cricketer he knew when to retire and he felt it is his best time to retire, and there is nothing new in it.Rather other senior players should realise their potentiality and declare retirement before they are ignored by the selectors for considering them for the next matches.Well done Sourav.Retire as a hero!thanx.
