Do you throw away your twenty five, five and ten centavo coins?! i'm just curious..what are you doing when you are given change having these cents?! me, i always grab for it..hehe, nothing special about the coins..we have just decided to put up a cents box in the center of our living room table..whenever we go shopping or whenever i go cleaning and happened to find one of these cents, i simply have it and put it in our box..and now, when i go places and i have to take a ride, i have to visit this precious box and get cents that can make my fare exact..(talking about the minimum fare of jeepneys today, 8.50), or sometimes when i wanted to buy something from the nearby store and my money isn't enough, i hopped in near the table and maybe you know what i am doing..and that's how i'd found it useful..saving those precious cents, how about you?! what do you do in your cents?!

I never throw away ten and twenty five cents! I keep them or most of the time I put them in the can for charity or for the children in any supermarket outlet that has one. Have a nice day.

A couple of months ago, I decided to do some physical exercise and save some cash at the same time. I chose to walk about a half kilometer every weekday while on my way to work. I go out of the house earlier than usual; about thirty to forty minutes ahead my routinary schedule. Along the way, I saw some loose coins which have very minimal value but I picked them up just the same. I was even surprised that for about two weeks, I was able to see and keep at least one piece of coin each day. I guess some people are shy or ashamed to pick up coins of small denominations on the road, because other people would definitely look at them, but personally I don't see it this way. For me, this is a better way to save some money for the rainy days rather than borrowing cash from people. In the particular situation I mentioned above, I felt that God was somehow giving me money because He knows that my family is facing some financial difficulties at the moment. Anyway just like you, I use these centavo coins for my transportation fares on my occasional rides on a jeepney. Aside from this, these are also used to pay or complete the payment for electricity bills, water bills, and other utility bills. Regards to you, fellow Filipino. I salute you on a great saving technique.

I hang on to every coin I get my hands on, including pennies. It all adds up over time and you never know what the loose change will come in handy for. In years past, I've actually paid for two custom built computers with the loose change I saved.
