What Would You Do if Your Friend Said He/she Was Gay?

I know a situation were one of my friends have been hanging out with this kid for a long time and they have been really really close together for years until one of them admitted that he like him and he was gay!! So my friend cut off all relations with him and never picks up his phone calls anymore and wants nothing to do with him. He just threw away an 8 year friendship and will probably not build it back up. He claims he is disgusted that he hanged out with a gay person for so long and he had a crush on him too so that even makes it worse. Well i personally would be freaked out and i would probably react the same if not worse. We make fun of him every chance we get lool. Its the most weirdest thing i known someone to experience.
What Would you do in a Situation like that?
Will you do the same thing?

that's going to be awkward. i've never been in a situation like that. i have friends who werent gay when we were younger but developed into a full blown gay afterwards... LOL! they are actually fun to be with and i have to admit that its bound to happen because we notice that he's a little girly. nothing else other than that! :)

But this guy that admitted he was gay never even acted gay. Nobody expected it. That why everyone is freaked out.

so, you tell them you are not interested, would "your friend" totally ignore a girl if she said she had a crush on him,but he didnt like her?

I've had gay friends before and I personally don't think it's that big a deal. I would certainly let that friend know that I am not in any way interested, but there's no reason we couldn't still be friends. It sounds like your friend is a bit homophobic.

If a friend tells me that he is gay, I will congratulate him for being himself because I think it is very hard for anyone to hide who they are. To admit to your true feelings is liberating.
I don't get why your friend overreacted. If it is an 8-year friendship, how can he just throw it away just like that? What's so weird in being gay? I think your friend should have been honored because his friend confided to him and he trusted him enough to admit to him who he really is.

I think all people are the same. If I found that my friend is a gay, I will treat him normally and also still become his friend. If he love me, it will become a problem. I will try to stand off slowly from friend without offend his heart. Because love can make someone blind.
