Did you ever decide one day to just pack up and move cross-country?

What influenced your decision to move? How far away did you move from your previous location to your current one? Are you happy with your decision?

Back when I was younger we used to move any time the notion hit us. It was nothing for us to be sitting around talking when someone would mention how the sun was shining in California or something like that and twenty minutes later we would be in our car heading out for a 3,000 mile road trip. After my husband became disabled though it took 3 days to plan a trip to the grocery store. I sure do miss the times we had traveling to new places when ever we took the notion. I'm glad we did it while we could.

Seven years ago I was living in Florida and discovering what my roommate, who was supposed to be one of my best friends, is really like. It was a really bad situation and I needed to be closer to people who supported me, like my family. At the time, they were in Alaska. I'm not friends with Alaska but I needed out and that's where my favorite person (my nephew) was. So off I went. I hibernated most of the time. I get cold easily and I'm a big city girl. But in a way it helped because I got away and was able to make decisions (although they were hard)about changes I needed to make, which included cutting people out of my life. I only lasted a year, though. My parents decided to move back to Texas, where I originally grew up, and I followed.

Matter of fact I did just that 3 1/2 years ago. Meeting an amazing man is what influenced my decision the most lol. I made a move of 1600 miles from Texas to Pa. My family still lives in Texas, except my oldest daughter who lives in Virginia. I haven't had one regret with my decision to move. That is not to say I don't miss my family, and seeing them as often, but I am happy with my decision to move here. I'm planning on going to Texas for Christmas this year, first time in 2 years to see most of my family.
