i have a band and i was always the one to write our songs. i do it by starting with the musical instruments, the rhythm and lead to be exact. then the bassline and the beat would follow. i do it by part (chorus first, then stanza, etc.). when the song is about complete i put in the lyrics, and i find adding the words the hardest part. so, how do you write your song?

i used to have a band.. and I'm still looking for a new one... ( sigh... :c ) I start with writing poems, coz' I believe poetry is a perfume for my soul. I start by writing my emotions, when I'm sad, I feel hatred, when I'm loved, happy, or when I feel there's just something new. Sometimes things just pop out my head, and when that time comes I make sure there's always a pen and a paper handy so that I can jot down my thoughts right away. It also helps when you listen to stories of other people.. because it would be a new thing for you.. try doing it when your drunk or when you have not slept yet for like 24 hours or more..hihi... I hope this would help... Good luck with your band..and I hope you could start on making your new piece soon...

My friend who also has a band usually has this poetic side of him. He is also the lyricist in the group. Usually, it's either way around -- he would have the lyrics then put rhythm into it, or beat then lyrics. Either way, I guess, it's effective. I am no song writer -- I am just a frustrated musician.

a song can touch or impress when it comes out from the heart of the writer. So better to write the lyrics wat you feel and go on with the beat the chords , bass , the chorus, then other instruments and bring the output how you want it. just try this i'm not a great musician. just s thought....
